When I saw a Facebook post about a new Bravo show called Extreme Guide to Parenting, I felt compelled to find out more. You might think that aromatherapy is no substitute for Ritalin, or that there is no way a teeny-tiny infant can communicate her need to go potty, but these parents have their own creeds.
The real shame here, the burning shame that should sting the face of all politicians as they ignore calls for extended unemployment benefits, reduce food stamps for the poor, or ignore the need for massive student loan revision is this: They would have to watch uncomfortably and listen to the reality of life for their constituents.
Modeling requires strength on a number of different levels -- strength to hold your head high and endure rejection; strength to continue to follow your passion in order to build a successful career; strength to ignore critics and naysayers; and strength to keep your body, mind and spirit in tip-top shape.
There are a few things that would seem obvious about jumping into this business but absolutely are not, and I'm going to take a minute to share them now. Before anybody else gets hurt (literally or figuratively speaking). As a reality television "survivor," I have an obligation to the other rookies out there.
