It's not about "political correctness" (in the context of current Mississippi politics, supporting the inclusion of the Rebel standard on the state flag is the politically "correct" thing to do). It's about moral correctness; it's about historical correctness; it's about common decency.
Although news headlines often glibly refer to a "war on women" in political terms, policymakers might well devote more energy to sex trafficking -- a nightmarish war faced by the most vulnerable among us, young women who are being bought and sold for sex against their will.
The question the Republicans who are fighting to restore the cuts to military pensions really need to answer is, what makes all of these other brave men and women who work for the government less deserving of good pay, great benefits and public adoration?
