Was I really enhancing my canvas with a known quantity that was adding inherent value to my film negative or was I polluting artwork, and by extension its message, with a celebrity whose presence in the film was more important than the film itself?
Some people come into Show Business for all the wrong reasons. Their goal is just to become famous. This will not work. They're not really interested in any training or the acting process. They are trying to use the idea of acting to compensate for an invisible and disconnected life.
The stereotypical "I moved out to Los Angeles or New York City with nothing," still exists. But, unlike in the past, the person doesn't have to physically step onto the streets of New York or L.A. to make an impact.
