The arrest comes after six juveniles were named persons of interest in bomb threats made against historically Black colleges and universities last week.
Secret Service whisked Emhoff out of an event at Dunbar High School, with teachers and reporters evacuating as well.
The FBI is probing threats against more than dozen historically Black colleges and universities as hate crimes.
At least six historically Black universities were responding to bomb threats Monday, with many of them locking down their campuses for a time.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
Cornell, Columbia and Brown universities all reported threats on Sunday. The alerts followed similar threats made at Yale and schools in Ohio in recent days.
"No one who serves in Congress should be expressing public sympathy with the views of a terrorist," a colleague admonished the Alabama Republican.
No arrests have been made in the case of an individual who placed two pipe bombs around Capitol Hill a day before the Jan. 6 riot.
"They didn't hear ticking they heard purring!!"
The conservative group wanted to send a message to certain Democrats who voted in favor of the impeachment inquiry resolution.
"A rational observer may have brushed off Trump’s tweets as hyperbole, but Mr. Sayoc took them to heart," his attorneys wrote.
