"This cannot be treated as just another outrageous moment in the campaign."
The former CBS News anchor warns that "there has been some media complicity" in the candidate's rise.
The news icon reminded Americans that "the pen is mightier than the sword."
James Vanderbilt's depiction of the "60 Minutes" scandal has met controversy.
"It's astounding how little truth there is in 'Truth'," a CBS spokesman said.
The Oscar winner is her own competition during this year's awards season.
The CBS anchor's fall from grace hits the big screen on Oct. 16.
