Just five months after he condoned white supremacy, the congressman got a warm reception at an Iowa GOP event where Donald Trump was speaking.
The Iowa Republican Party got President Trump to headline its fundraiser Tuesday. King, a white supremacy defender, is invited.
The Iowa congressman claims he's been punished unfairly by "a political lynch mob."
"He’s saying it’s not racist when he’s actually saying something racist coming out of his mouth," noted the CNN host.
The Iowa Republican said being accused of racism gave him "better insight into what he went through for us."
Iowa state Rep. Randy Feenstra is reeling in campaign donations while King is spending more than he raised.
The Ohio congressman made the remarks while in King's home district in Iowa.
The CNN anchor called out the congressman's offensive comparison of New Orleans flood victims to those in his own state.
The Iowa congressman claimed a FEMA official told him that Hurricane Katrina victims only asked for help, unlike Iowans who "take care of each other."
"That's so hypothetical," said the nine-term congressman, who has a history of making white nationalist statements.
