Regardless of our age or how many digital devices we have, World Sight Day is a good reminder to make that eye exam appointment you've been putting off and take care of your eyes. They're the only pair you've got.
This World Sight Day, I encourage everyone to support eye health programs benefiting those in the U.S. and around the world so that we can eliminate this unnecessary and costly barrier to education, economic growth and a better quality of life for all.
While some of these stats and stories are very serious, we've decided to have a little fun with our participation in World Sight Day this year: we're asking you to #BESHADY with the TOMS community on October 10.
Thursday, October 11 is World Sight Day. It may seem odd to celebrate something we so often take for granted like eyesight, but every five seconds someone in the world goes blind. Spread the word. Together we can all let a little light in.
