MINNESOTA MUSLIM makes its LA premiere on September 22nd at the Zephyr Theatre on Melrose. After a six month run to sold out audiences at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City, Charlie Sanders (Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien, The Office) brings his acclaimed one man show to Los Angeles.

From looking at Charlie Sanders, you would easily believe he is from Minnesota. You would never guess that he was secretly raised Sufi Muslim by his alcoholic hippy turned religious father. In his one man show Sanders tells the story of growing up a seemingly normal Midwestern kid while whirling with dervishes on the weekends. He takes you from the adventures of a dualistic childhood all the way through to the outrageous and comically macabre events of his father's funeral in this powerhouse performance that New York Magazine called "Existentially Hilarious."

Charlie Sanders is a comedian, actor, and writer living and working in Los Angeles. He is a member of the improvisational group "Shitty Jobs" at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, was a regular sketch actor on "Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien," and appears frequently on the popular website "Funny or Die," including writing and starring in FOD's first long form project "The Big Dog." He has appeared on NBC's "The Office," in the movie "When in Rome," and can be seen in the upcoming film "Cedar Rapids" from Fox Searchlight.
