So how come I was never this smart, intelligent, intuitive or inculcated?

Many years ago, I worked with a man who chooses to remain anonymous, and after he read something that I had written about Mitt Romney and God, he sent me the following:

When my granddaughter Stephie was about 5 years old, she became an avid reader. She read books and magazines while her friends were watching cartoons. She would also "practice" by reading everything in sight including signs in shop windows and billboards.

One day, not too long ago, when I was walking down the street with Stephie, she paused to read a sign outside of a Church. After a few steps, she turned to me and said, "That was a silly sign." No longer reading everything I pass to practice reading, I replied, "Why, what did it say?" "It said if you want to be with God come inside. I don't need to go inside. God is everywhere. God is even in my personal space."

And once more I wonder why I was never that smart or perceptive, or...?
