Stop Stalling, and Follow Your Internal Compass

When we think of great leaders, we often think of their decisiveness. I define leaders as people who make things happen. What that boils down to is, to lead you decide to take action.

As the leader of my own company, I am at the helm. I decide the direction this ship is sailing. I decide what and where to focus the time, energy, and money in my business. Recently, I've decided to offer new services to my corporate clients. To do that, I will have to make investments of my time, resources and money so that I can offer the top quality service and content I want for my clients.

As my business grows, there are more and more decisions to make. And they often need to be made quickly. It's the same for my clients in the corporate world; they face quick decisions daily at work and in their personal lives.

Every day, we are surrounded by decision-making opportunities. We must decide everything, from what to eat, what to wear, what to say, invest, buy, learn, love, do, go, live, be... the list is endless.

How do you make "right" decisions?

I hear people say they are afraid to make the wrong decision so they avoid making any decision at all. They delay their decisions until they have more information or see what other people do.

How long are you going to let outside circumstances control you?

At some point you have to stake your claim and make a decision.

No one can predict what the "right" decision is, ever.

What I've learned as a business owner and coach is that waiting to decide does nothing but prolong the inevitable. Eventually, someone has to call the shots.

If you wait to decide, what you are really waiting for is:
  • The "right answer" to fall into your lap.
  • Someone to tell you what to do.
  • Someone else to take the lead.
  • The problem to go away.

Irresponsibly prolonging decisions are not what leaders do.

Leaders take action; they decide.

The best decisions are made with the best knowledge, skills, and intelligence you have at that time. (You don't know what you don't know. Right?)

What ultimately will lead you to making solid decisions are your own unshakable core values. I work with my clients on getting clear on their core values because these become their guiding principles for their work and lives.

Your core values serve as your internal compass that shows you the way. When you know what is most important to you and you are clear about your priorities, decision-making becomes a smoother, faster process.

Allow your core values to guide you and your decisions will align with what matters most to you.

You can confidently say, "It's the best decision I could make at this time."

To make the best decisions you can possibly make, get clear on your core values, first. Schedule a free clarity call today, and let's get to work!
