When 'Good Enough' Just Isn't Enough

Are you happy where you are now, or do you feel the need for change?

According to a Kelly Services' annual global survey, 48 percent of the respondents are unhappy in their current jobs.

And Gallup's State of the American Workplace report, reveals that 70 percent of American workers are "not engaged" or "actively disengaged," and are emotionally disconnected from their workplaces.

That's a lot of unhappy, uninspired people!

If you are unhappy in your current work situation, it's easy to check out. And while you can fake it to make it hard to spot from the outside, inside you know the truth.

The truth is, when you are checked out, you don't do your best. You survive, but never truly thrive.

I work with corporate professionals who know this scenario all too well. And I was once there, too.

What I've learned since then is something I believe in with all my heart:

"Good enough" is NOT good enough for you.

  • Good enough doesn't cut it because it doesn't represent your talents and passion.
  • Good enough doesn't satisfy you because you never do your best work.
  • Good enough isn't who you are on the inside.

You know you have so much more to offer, and that something needs to change.

But before you do something rash like throw in the towel and quit your current job, why not pause and ask yourself what your definition of success really is.

Your personal definition of success should reflect your deep desires.

It should meet YOUR expectations and not someone else's.

It should feel peaceful, solid and good when you imagine yourself living it.

I've learned from coaching many private clients that you won't find success until you know what is most important to you.

That's because your personal definition of success is a summary of who you are, what you want, and where you are heading all in one.

Here is your free "Leadership Discovery Tool" to help you find your own definition of success.
