Put on a happy face: Campaigning for her husband after Tuesday's loss in Florida, Ann Romney told supporters, "This is just a send-off point. This is not an end. This is another beginning." From the stricken look on her face during Mitt's concession speech, we'd say she's hoping there won't be many more of such beginnings on Super Duper Tuesday.

Jupiter aligned with Mars: One of McCain's senior staff members who left during the candidate's summer implosion said the staff that bailed out figured the stars would have to line up correctly for McCain to come back. "We gave it about a 5 percent chance," the former staffer said. "You had some days there in July where it appeared that if you waited an hour, the campaign could be over." And Huckabee still thinks God's on his side.

Shrillary just exploring differences: In a recent Georgia appearance before Baptists, Hillary Clinton noted that she and Bill do not always agree on things. Explaining away reports that there is disagreement within the campaign about whether former President Clinton's outspoken criticism of Obama has hurt her candidacy, Hillary offered, "Bill and I have been talking and debating since we first met 35 years ago. Sometimes the decibel level can rise. That is how we learn to explore our differences." A hint of President Hillary's decibel diplomacy doctrine?

Time to put the pedal to the metal: In yesterday's email to supporters, Mike Huckabee wrote, "we need to pick up the speed. Slow and steady wins the race more often than not, but sometimes you need to open things up and go full throttle." And that means dig deeper, my friends. He and God can't do this alone.

Who let the dawgs out? Mike Huckabee is campaigning in California, where he pledged not to drop out of the race, despite his poor showing in recent primaries. "This boy isn't on the ropes. There's a saying in the South: 'It ain't the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog,"' he said. The Huckster is evidently getting advice from Michael Vick.

Keyes can still get cross-dresser votes: Republican commissioners of the New York State Board of Elections ordered Alan Keyes off the ballot because he failed to provide a complete list of delegates. Ballots in New York City, however, will include Keyes in defiance of the order to remove his name. The Keyester is undoubtedly breathing a sigh of relief as his legions of Greenwich Village supporters can still vote for him.
