There I said it. You deserve more, plain and simple. I find myself constantly telling all those around me "you deserve more." So often we tend to settle for less than we deserve because it's easy to get comfortable. And then there's that famous quote from Perks of Being a Wallflower that says, "We accept the love we think we deserve." So you are telling me that you think you deserve to be treated sub par?

You're more than just someone who gets a text asking to come over at 2 a.m. Yup, you're more than just a booty call. You deserve to be taken out to a movie or to dinner, and yes you're totally worth dessert at the end of the meal.

You deserve to be more than the friend who is getting walked all over on. If you feel like you're constantly the friend who's getting calls to pick up your drunk friends at a bar, or the one who's always listening to everyone else's problem, but when you need someone, suddenly everyone is too busy? Friendship is a two-way streak, and you deserve better friends, people who will be there for you, not just the other way around.

You deserve to be paid for all the hard work that you do at your job. In your career if you feel like you aren't getting the compensation as someone doing the same job as you, or that you think you should be getting paid more, well, it's about time you said something. You deserve to be valued and paid for the effort and time you put into your job.

Don't let anyone or anything make you feel inferior. You deserve more, and sometimes those three words are all you need to get yourself out a situation that doesn't value or appreciate you. It's easy to just settle and stay in a situation because it's comfortable. It's the fear of the unknown and letting go to the stability that make us stay in these situations. But there are far better things ahead than those we leave behind. You will find new friends who support you, you will find a better job that values your talents, you will find a person who loves you, but that's only possible when you let go of the things holding you back. You need to say goodbye to those things that don't deserve YOU. You are special, you are important, and you deserve more.
