Commonly referred to as the city that never sleeps, New York City is a lively metropolis home to some of the best parties, concerts, and festivals in the U.S. Don't let the island's small size fool you - it's packed with people looking to have a good time, no matter what time of the year or what hour of the day. Whether you prefer enormous three-day music festivals or just a night out at the club, the wide variety of things to do in NYC will provide plenty of options for any day or night.

Holiday Events

From the Village Halloween Parade to the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show, New York City certainly knows how to throw a holiday party. If you're looking for a fun way to end your summer, try one of the numerous Labor Day events in NYC. Electric Zoo, an annual EDM festival at Randall's Island, is held every year over Labor Day Weekend. Throw on your favorite rave attire and head over to this festival for electronic music, good vibes, food, and art. Some past performers include Skrillex, Kaskade, Laidback Luke, and Knife Party.

Festivals

On those days when you feel like switching it up, checking out a cool festival is always a fun option. Every summer, the Hudson Hotel's Tequila Park hosts Tequila Fest, a day-long festival dedicated to our favorite Mexican libation. The festival features live music, tacos, and plenty of drinks by brands like Don Julio, Patron, Herradura, and more. After the festival, head over to Hudson Bar for a few cocktails, or hit up the Library Bar for a game of pool.

Concerts

The music scene in New York City offers everything from hip-hop, to folk, to ska, and everything in between. Music venues range from small hole-in-the wall spots to massive concert halls, providing plenty of choices for concerts in NYC. If you're looking for a venue with a good view and great acoustics, check out Bowery Ballroom on the Lower East Side. Known for its crystal clear sound, and considered by many to be one of the best music venues in the area, Bowery Ballroom hosts a diverse blend of musical acts, from up-and-coming alternative bands to well-known artists like Ryan Adams.

Club Nights

New York City is home to countless clubs and bars, many of which host special club nights on specific days each week. For a great time, check out Webster Hall, known by many as one of the first modern nightclubs. Even the under-21 crowd can enjoy this spot; once a week, Webster Hall hosts Bassment Saturdays, a club night open to all partiers ages 19 and up. Check it out with a group of friends and dance all night, literally - this joint is open till 4 a.m.
