Michelle Bachmann rose to national attention with her call for the news media to conduct an investigation of Congress for un-American policies. She need have looked no further than her own cloakroom and her own voting record.

What could be more un-American than promoting the offshoring of American jobs?

Yet, that is what Republicans favor. They voted to allow companies to deduct from their taxable income the expenses of offshoring jobs and, for good measure, of shipping equipment overseas.

It would be one thing if only the whackomeister Michelle Bachmann voted for it.

But, sadly, that is not what happened.

The entire Republican Party voted for it, including the purported Speaker to be, John Boehner, the major supporter of Nazi cross-dressers running for Congress.

Although I hear Democrats saying something about all this, it certainly is not very forceful. It is not clear and concise. It gets all muddled with other words good for policy wonks, but not that touch peoples' guts.

The Republican Party favors sending your jobs offshore. They favor a global labor market, driving down the cost and power of labor. They cheerfully toast the screwing of the middle class. It drives up their profits, their wealth, their power. It is anti-American.

A vote for any Republican is a vote to send your job to a foreign country. That is why business is buying the election for Republicans.

That should be closing argument #1. The images: (i) George Bush speaking to the black-tied, bejeweled dinner calling them "his base", then becoming Joe Barton apologizing to BP; (ii) American factory workers walking out of their plants, (iii) the white-haired gent who runs the Chamber of Commerce with a list of their foreign contributors, (iv) foreign workers walking into their plants.

Period.

I wonder if the reason the Democrats didn't really mind the auctioning off of American jobs is because many of their financial backers are the same ones who are outsourcing the jobs. Neither side cares as long as the money keeps flowing.

As you can see above, I deal with this on a personal level all the time. It is simply amazing how something that can do so much destruction is embraced simply because it benefits a small minority. A minority that also happens to have the most cash. What a coincidence.

I bet if I could circumvent national laws and hire slave labor I'd be able to cut my competitors throats too. Darn it, then I'd have to invest in a lifetime of sleep aids to live with myself. Oh well.

Isn't it funny? People will actually turn out and vote for the modern day outsourcing champion, Carly Fiorina for office.

Let's just get Jack Welch in there while we're at it.

What is the actual bill that Michelle Bachmann voted for that contains this set of tax breaks. I want to share this information in policy debates with Republicans but I need to have the facts correct. Can you please provide this detailed info?

They want an economy where we are all selling hamburgers to each other!! What makes me more angry than the Republican Party and their treasonous positions is the UNIONS warned America about the exact problems we are facing in this plutocrat economy and have been sounding the alarm over and over for over a decade!! It fell on deaf ears!! Well I guess it will take the total obliteration of the middle class for alot of the gullable American electorate to WAKE UP!! Johnny Depp once said,"America is a dumb country!"At first I got mad at him,but now I totally agree with him he has wisdom beyond his years!!

And then we're told to "quit whining"! We've known for years (Charles Weaver & Thorstein Veblen were writing in the 1890's) that the financial power was coming to own and totally control the country. We never dreamed (nor did they anticipate) that the vast manufacturing base of America would be exported simply to avoid paying living wages to American workers. We should have seen it coming...
Our owners and masters have no responsibility toward us or, for that matter, to the country. They do respond to the "bottom line", to shareholders' desire for maximum return on investment, so that said shareholders can live large without working...Well, I guess we'd all like to do that, so it's all right...and we're all going to win the lottery and get very rich, so we wouldn't want to take away any of the rights of the very rich, would we? Because we're going to be them...in our dreams...
The people responsible here are parasites on our society. They create nothing. We don't need them and considering the damage they do to us, we shouldn't tolerate them.
They think of themselves as the "best and the brightest", but we've yet to see any evidence of that...
It's time, and more than time, to dispossess the lot of them, run corporate America for the benefit of the country and it's people, not for the 1% who "own" it...

The Money Masters - How International Bankers Gained Control of America
"The powers of financial capitalism had a far-reaching plan, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole...Their secret is that they have annexed from governments, monarchies, and republics the power to create the world's money..."

How can you say anything about sending jobs outside this country ? Your thief-in-charge has allowed GM to build factories outside the US, he shut down the offshore drilling in the gulf, and now these companies are gone- leaving thousands out of work in the deep south - he has crippled small business, This thief-in-charge [ obama ] is about as business savvy as a three year old - . Obama wants to turn this country into a two class system with the elites in charge and we working class into servants. You elites think that OUR money is YOUR money - that you have the right to tell us how to live our lives . Everything from what we eat to what we drive, where and how we live, work and play - you even dare to tell us how to raise our kids, and you wonder why this country is so close to a second civil war. We already know how to make a living - we don't need NOR want a bunch of you elites telling us how to do things that you guys couldn't do at all.
Tell me what do you know about farming, welding, working on cars, driving trucks, ranch work, have you ever gotten your hands dirty working for a living ? Or have you just gone to school and gotten a job that for some unknown reason makes you think you have the right to know more than the rest of us ?

Let me answer your question with a question: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) tells drug companies what standards they need to satisfy to be allowed to manufacture and market medicines. Similarly, with food companies and cosmetic companies. It regulates about 30% of the entire economy. Because of that, you have a much more highly certain knowledge that your drugs, taken properly, will do what they say they do, without causing you lasting harm, that your food is safe to eat, and that your wife's cosmetics do not scar her face. Do you want the FDA to "go away", stop telling the drug companies what standards they need to reach (and, by the way, government agencies rarely tell anyone "how" to do something, just what standards they much reach to be allowed to sell things to the public), and leave it up to companies' "good will" to make their own standards?
p.s. yes, I've worked on cars. Couldn't do it on modern cars, too much training I never had required.

Many of us "elites" have gone to school, and many of us have worked our way through four or more years of college - getting our hands dirty. If you have only gotten your hands dirty working for a living and have not gone to school, then logic dictates that we must know more than you. What is it about modern conservatives that makes them think going to school and getting an education is automatically a bad thing that makes a person "elite"? When I was growing up, everyone wanted to send their kids to good schools and educate them to the very best of their ability - to improve their status in the world (and yes, that would make them elite, which means of a higher social status). Now, it seems, many conservatives think that an education has no value and that bettering yourself through education is something to be looked down upon. This can only be "sour grapes" by those who failed to get an education and better themselves. People sometimes hate most that which they envy most.

The Democrats need to take this meme as their standard. The one thing GOPers know is Keep It Simple Stupid. Ring one bell and don't stop for anything, don't let yourselves get distracted by wonkey thoughts. That is the only GOPer idea Dems should pay any attention to. Learn it, master it and never forget it.
The author's visual ad plan is spot on. If the Democratic party would crank that ad out and run it alone until election night they would do themselves more good than anything else. Hang job off-shoring around their necks like a rotten, stinking albatross and with GWB's smirking face on it.
Hurry up guys! There might be just enough time to save the country.

The Democrats seem to have a really hard time with standing up and shouting the truth: Republicans are anti-American, anti-democracy, anti-freedom. They lie and they manipulate and they cheat to win elections. They make a mockery of American values.

That they are all that, while somehow convincing millions of people they are the opposite - it is evil, pure evil. One can feel sympathy for the sheep led to slaughter; they never had a chance against that kind of evil. Did they have to take the rest of us down with them?
