A Note to Bill Clinton

?>

Given that we would never have had the odious George W. Bush in the White House in the first place if it wasn't for your blow jobs, Bill, it seems obvious that you owe it to the people of this country, and especially to the parents whose kids died in the Iraq War that Gore would never have started, and to all the parents whose kids would be killed in the WarFest that would be a McCain/Palin -- sorry, Palin/McCain -- administration to do everything in your power to get Barack Obama elected.

But that's not what you're doing, Bill, and it's not going unnoticed. We see your rage, Bill, it's too huge to hide. We see that -- as Chris Rock so brilliantly pointed out -- it pains you to even speak Obama's name. We see you petulantly rooting against him even as you go through the motions of doing the barest minimum on his behalf to avoid being blamed if he loses.

You're not fooling anyone, Bill. You've gotten so caught up in yesterday that you've stopped thinking about tomorrow. You have the power to influence millions of voters and you're spitefully sitting on it. Surely you've noticed what's going on in the country. Surely you're aware of what's at stake on November 4th. This is not a game that you can afford to take your ball and go home with if you don't get to play the position you want. An Obama loss will most certainly be part of your legacy.

There's still time to fix it. How about this for an October surprise? Bill Clinton gets on the road and spends every day until the election sincerely and wholeheartedly communicating the urgency of electing Obama. You're the greatest politician of your generation, Bill. Surely you can fake enthusiasm for a month.

Oh, and stop talking about how much you like Senator McCain. Have you forgotten the vile joke he told a decade ago at your wife's and daughter's expense? Let me remind you: "Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? She's the child of Janet Reno and Hillary Clinton." Are you saying, Bill, that you can forgive McCain for calling Chelsea "ugly" but you can't forgive Obama for defeating Hillary?

If Obama loses a close election -- one in which even one state where you could have made a difference goes for McCain because you sat home and pouted -- it will be on you. We will remember that you couldn't be bothered to rise above your petty resentments for something as trivial as saving your country from the enemies of everything you profess to believe in. We forgave you for Monica, Bill, but we won't forgive you for this.

Given that we would never have had the odious George W. Bush in the White House in the first place if it wasn't for your blow jobs, Bill, it seems obvious that you owe it to the people of this country...

We wouldn't have Bush in the White House if Gore didn't run away from Clinton and if Lieberman didn't say that they would certainly not contest the military votes in Florida and if Lieberman/Gore did not, as Kerry did also, act concede with the noblesse oblige of a gentleman, as if he "owned" the votes of his supporters. Stop placing the blame on Clinton; it's tired; it's wrong; and it's not good for the Democratic Party.

This was a SLANDEROUS (perhaps not that surprising given then name SLANSKY) and scandalous article. Lewinsky etc has nothing to do with why this country so-called elected George W. Bush, don't even go there and become another little mini-Kenneth Starr (may he suffer from lack of employment from here to eternity). Because then Bush wouldn't have been elected a 2nd time. Give some goddamn respect to one of our great Presidents.....and have you noticed how he's doing with the Clinton initiative?

What I don't understand is this, if Obama is as strong and better candidate as everyone believes than why does he need Bill Clinton to get him elected?

That just shows how desperate Obama supporters are, they don't have the confidence in him to see he is elected. Because if you did then you wouldn't fall for an article like this.

The sad thing is the media wants nothing but a soap opera, and you people fall for it. Ignore it and maybe it will go away!

If McCain is such a strong and heroic a candidate is everyone would have you believe, why does he choose a running mate specifically to lure Hillary Supporters,?

If John McCain is such a formidable a candidate why choose someone so inept as a VP

Why does John McCain need Sean Hannity to help him win this election.

Why..?

Because John McCain isn't a strong and heroic a candidate.

My heart goes out to President Clinton!
Although I can't imagine him even reading half of this incomprehensible garbage. I myself read on, just to get a better understanding of the level of ignorance the mind of the average Obama supporter is toting.
I can certainly understand why President Clinton is having such a difficult time showing support for such a worthless candidate. The way I see it, if after all the millions Obama has received from his "special interest" world wide funding team and, after having succesfully racially politicized this campaign to his favor well then, if he doesn't win, don't go blaming Bill Clinton. If Bill Clinton had that kind of clout, don't you think it would have worked to Hillary's favor?
Let's face it- if by the grace of god Obama loses, which I don't see happening- It's because there are still citizens in this country who still have true values.
The question is; Will the "new found clueless politicos" who suddenly are so proud to be Americans out number the well informed tax payers who have been proudly waving our flag for years?

Here, here...Paul, what a beautiful article and unfortunately it's true. I have untill now been a big fan of the Clinton's. I recently watched Bill Clinton on The View and Meet The Press and just buried my head in shame...does he really think people believed he came off supporting his own party's candidate. What a joke? He should be ashamed of hmself...and thank you for pointing it out so eloquently!

Greatest blog of the month. I agree totally, as do most Dems who realize this race is to great to let petty manipulations and arguments pull this party apart. It has been a disasterous 8 years. If you don't think it could get any worse if Obama isn't elected you just need to look back on just 2004 and now.

$4.00 gas much? Military still stretched and still in Iraq? Financial markets tumbling much? Homes and jobs few and far between enough for ya? Savings depleted much? Credit cards maxed to the hilt? Like living not paycheck to paycheck, but paycheck and credit card, to paycheck and more credit card debt? Kids not left behind much? America cophers drained and living day to day on credit from the Middle East and China? Like how that feels? Enough of the best and brightest maimed, burned, blinded, or dead enough for ya? Kids future going up in gas fumes okay with ya? Caught and shut down the terrorist cells that killed 3,000 Americans and mocks us and recruit even more worldwide yet? Like playing stink eye with Russia, Iran, Venezuela, and even offending Spain much? It used to be just Kim Jong Il and North Korea now its a new foe everyday? That's funny I guess?

And that just the half of it. But Clinton thinks the past 8 Years is a laugh riot, and the thought of the next 4 with Palin/McCain side splitting.

What does Bill owe Obama? Obama has rarely mentioned the great economic success of the Clinton years as a way to prove the superior ability of the Dems to handle the budget, but he has written a book and given speeches in which he praises both Reagan and Bush Sr.

Lukewarmness is a two way street.

Bill has said that he wants Obama to win time and again , if he's not enthusiastic , as least he's authentic when he says he prefers Obamas policies to McCains.
05:23 PM on 09/29/2008
He doesn't owe Obama anything but he does owe the American people ...to support the Democratic candidate and he 's not doing it. Just watch his last 3 interviews on The View, Larry King and Meet The Press....read between the lines...sometimes our words aren't always the message that comes across.
If this was Hilary running, he'd never interview like this

If Obama loses this election, I as a Democrat for as long as I have been able to vote (since McGovern) and active Party member will go out of my way to make sure that Hillary Clinton is NOT our candidate in 2012.

I will donate time, money and maximum effort to make sure that any candidate other than his wife is our nominee. I do not think I will be lonely in my anger... if Obama loses.

I am with you on this---Hillary stayed too long in the race and did a lot
of damage to Barack

It's something you just don't do in politics. You saw how Edwards, Dodd, Biden, Richards etc bowe dout when the time became obvious and in a show of solidarity. Richards and the rest could have snuck into stayed around, snuck into Florida, or Michigan got their names put back on the ballots, hung around long enough to split the votes every which way and then shout unfairness at the end that their Florida and Michigan votes were stolen. Then claimed the hispanic vote or white male vote were being disenfranchised. Keeping up a lot of descension and infighting.

But did they? That is not how the game is played nor how the battle for the party and the White House is won.

The truest words spoken!!

Nor mine.

I was Hillary supporter until she began listening to bad advice and running a sleazy campaign. She began (as Bill is doing now) praising McCain and playing dirty against Obama. She lost, and she should accept her loss gracefully, as should Bill. They should be doing everything possible to get Obama elected, for the good of the country and the world.

If Obama is elected, both Bill and Hillary could have significant rolls in his administration. Hillary could be appointed to the SJC, perhaps a better role for her than president. If they continue to campaign insincerely and cost him the election, I, too, will not support Hillary in '12.

A-freaking-men.

Bill cares more about himself than the country.........and always has.

I was appalled to hear Bill Clinton rave about McCain and Palin while being interviewed at his event last week, at The View and today at Meet the Press. He is smooth but not smooth enough to conceal the fact that he is definitely not for Obama and if anything is hurting his campaign by expressing admiration for McCain and Palin. It is schocking.

While I thought that bringing up McCain´s hurtful comments about an innocent child - Chelsea - were unwarranted - ultimately I decided that obviously Clinton does not care about that, he cares more about his bruised ego at not becoming First Gentleman or whatever he was going to become if Hillary won.

I agree wholeheartedly agree with your post, Clinton is not fooling anyone and...he does not care one bit about continuing to harm Obama´s chances.
