Five years ago, a filmmaker named Steve Kessler wrote me a letter and told me that he wanted to make a film about my life. I thanked him very much and told him that I didn't like to indulge my ego that way anymore.

But Steve kept persisting, and that led to two and a half years of filming and a movie I'm very proud of -- Paul Williams Still Alive (no, the title wasn't my idea). The film is about how life transformed for me after the years I was most famous, and why. It's funny, it's sad, it's sometimes embarrassing -- but I'm happy for you to see all of it.

It's also the story of me and Steve, and how in time, he went from stalker to brother. The film has its US Premiere this week at SXSW, and I'll be there at every screening. You can see the trailer here. Hope to see you this week in Austin.
