I am inspired by Daniel's thought process and his views on the changing world of work. Throughout much of his writings, you'll find a common theme that highlights the value of "meaning." Meaning in our interactions and in our relationships. There's an underlying message of humanity - one that is much needed in the business world today.

It's actually in his 2006 book "A Whole New Mind" that he asked us to prepare for a future that's already here. He wrote: "The future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind: artists, inventors, storytellers-creative and holistic "right-brain" thinkers whose abilities mark the fault line between who gets ahead and who doesn't."

So what happens to the "left-brain" thinkers?

I think what Daniel's telling us is that there's hope, if we remember that we are humans. This is difficult to do in business where we are traditionally taught to focus on numbers and the bottom line. But I'll echo what Daniel wrote, the future is here, so today we have to acknowledge that there is a better way to do business, one that puts humanity at the forefront of success.

I hope you find this conversation as inspirational as I did.
