I know it's a bit late to be blogging about this, but if you've had your fill of Tom DeLay and Andrew Card, why not try taking a look at one of the most majestic and beautiful wonders Nature has for us?
Wednesday morning, starting around 6:00 a.m. Eastern time, the Moon will pass directly between the Earth and the Sun, causing a total solar eclipse. Unfortunately for us Amurcans, the eclipse happens over Brazil, Africa, and Asia. However, there are many live webcams that will carry the event. Sky and Telescope magazine's website has a list of the webcams, and my own Bad Astronomy site has more info as well.
I've been an astronomer my whole life, and I've never seen a total solar eclipse with my own eyes. I have many friends, not all of whom are astronomers, who have, and they say it'll change your life. It's the most beautiful thing you can imagine. Someday...
