Q: Do you agree that Obama's SCOTUS nominee should not be considered until after the elections?

A: The Constitution gives the President the power to nominate a judge to the Supreme Court when there is a vacancy. The Constitution also gives the U.S. Senate the advice and consent power over that nominee. I agree with Senator McConnell's decision that, so close to a national election, this decision should be left to the people.

Q: Who is the Representative from the other side of the aisle that you have the best working relationship with?

A: I'd say Steny Hoyer. While we don't often see eye-to-eye on the issues, at the end of each week you'll find us debating one-on-one on the House Floor over the issues to be considered by Congress. We've been doing this since I first became Majority Leader in 2014.

Q: Will the Congress increase NASA funding?

A: Like so many other Americans, I've been inspired by spaceflight since I was a child. I'm lucky enough to represent a community proud of its many aerospace milestones; from breaking the sound barrier to the first manned commercial spaceflight. Edwards Air Force Base and Mojave Air and Space Port are both in the district I represent -- NASA has always played a critical role in America's exploration of the final frontier. Commercial spaceflight will advance with a strong partnership with NASA.
