MAY 21ST BREAKING NEWS: SYNAGOGUE TERROR PLOT THWARTED BY FBI

In case anyone thought that the threat of terrorism in America has waned, comes word that theFBI--apparently acting on a tip of an informer who overheard the plot at a Newburg Mosque-- interdicted four would- be American-born, Islamist terrorists as they planted what they thought were C-4 explosives at one Bronx, New York Synagogue and planned to target a second one on Wednesday Night. It's proof that America must be vigilant not only against 9/11 megastrikes but homegrown cells seeking to deprive us all of the normalcy of a Free society.

Jewish Institutions will be sure to beef up their security measures. Religious leaders of all faiths who understand that the targeting of one house of prayer is a threat to all religious communities have a special obligation to speak out publicly against these planned outrages.

Mayor Bloomberg's visit to morning services at the synagogue in Riverdale on Thursday will certainly be welcomed by a shaken community. But it is the Friday sermons at Mosques across America that give religious leaders in the Muslim community an important opportunity to denounce the Jihadist who promote such terror in the name of Islam. < strong>
