For those still following the story, The Times reported yesterday that twenty people were killed when a roadside bomb exploded in Mogadishu, and African Union troops fired back. The deputy mayor of Mogadishu said that most of those deaths were caused by African Union troops firing into civilian crowds after the explosion.

Meanwhile, the new Somali President was sworn in, in Djibouti, and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, "urged continued support for national reconciliation efforts in Somalia."

There have been no reports that the otherwise occupied US administration has commented on the situation.
