Palin Interview Illustrates She Doesn't Have a Clue

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Palin wants a cracker. Parroting pat lines in inappropriate places, clueless on the Bush Doctrine, repeating "We must not second guess Israel" for the benefit of Florida, instead of answering what the U.S.'s obligation to Israel is, looking like she wandered in the wrong room with a tray of pigs in the blanket, all I can say about Sarah Palin's debut is: Governor, I know Dan Quale and you, Governor Palin, are no Dan Quale.

This woman is not ready for prime time, let alone to run a country. I have just lost respect for the electorate of Alaska. Perhaps the below freezing temps and the long dark winters is their excuse for the lapse of good judgment in electing this hockey mom.

I'm dumbstruck by how little this woman knows. The scary part is that the majority of the electorate wont recognize how vapid she is because they aren't as astute on world affairs as their European counterpart. Even if you don't read the "Financial TImes" or watch "BBC World News," you should be able to see that Ms. Palin is an empty banana clip. The interview consisted of her vacillating between being the confident pit bull with lipstick and playing statesmen. It was uncomfortably obvious that she was searching for lines that were crammed into her in preparation for the interview.

This interview should give even the most zealous Palin-nut pause about her capabilities. She's not ready; and frankly I don't think she'll ever be. Cheerleader-in-Chief, yes, Commander-in Chief, get real! I will give her credit for learning to pronounce the names of the leaders of Iran and Georgia, something Bush never did, but if that is her primary qualification, then the kid who won the Spelling Bee is far more qualified than Ms. Palin.

The best part of the interview was when Charlie Gibson, who sought to redeem himself for the "flag pin" questions during one of the 21 democratic debates, rolled his eyes and exasperatedly said he was lost in her obfuscation. He looked as if he wanted to slap her, but it dawned on him if he did, he risk the wrath of the cult she leads. I wonder what the Palin-tology equivalent to a fatwa is?

Voting process!!Thats how we all become elected. Sarah Palin was elected Governor of Alaska because the majority of the people voted her in. If everyone wants to make things better, maybe they should run for office, and just leave her alone. She is much stronger than Biden, and has more experience than Obama. I vote McCain/Palin 2008.

The interview with Gibson that shows Palin's lack of knowledge about basic Bush crap should shine like a beacon at the way she has been taught to answer any questions with deflections. "In what way Charlie" says if you don't know the answer or whatever the question is about you ask a question back to get clues. Palin is a small town Mayor who somehow got elected to gov in Alaska. I would bet it was she was good enough looking for the men in Alaska who cared little about the government. She has a tough streak and fights dirty without a doubt but is someone who has made a practice of abuse of power by firing those who she felt "in her heart" didn't back her or maybe looked at her worng or she had friends who wanted them fired or whatever. Abuse of Power is what we have lived with for 8 years and you want her to be the next VP. Oh and don't forget McCain the guy who wants the Oval he is willing tolie cheat and steal right along with the abuse of power to add all this up we get Bush/Cheney the third....

I agree and respect your view - but what does that say about the rest of us? After Bush was SElected in2000, we more-or-less ELected him in 2004!

" ... Ms. Palin is an empty banana clip." LOL - that is soooo appropriate!

"The interview consisted of her vacillating between being the confident pit bull with lipstick and playing statesmen. "

Don't they make a sorry pair:
Ailing runs on being a former prisoner;
Palin runs on being a barracuda and pit bull.
Does she not realize these (pit bull, barracuda) are derogatory terms???!!!

Love it when people unknowingly insult themselves.

Great Article. . . . I loved the "I know Dan Quale" line. . . . So apropo.
If America is dumb enough to elect the MCCAIN/PARROT ticket, then America deserves to get
what is coming . . . and that just might be a GIANT disaster.
I used to loved the idea of a trip to Alaska, until I saw what a dumb, small-minded person
they picked for Governor. Now I know the whole state is full of back-woods-dumb-clucks like
Palin and Stevens. Of course McCain had to pick a person more dumb than he, and he had
to search all 50 states before he found one.
DUMB ALWAYS HIRES DUMBER.
SMART ALWAYS HIRES SMARTER.

Let's also remind everyone that Gibson was dead wrong on the Bush Doctrine. News just released today that the member of the press who coined the term said that Gibson's interpretation was far from common. Actually, Sarah got it right in that it is Bush's general foreign policy views. Gibson does this stuff for a living and he doesn't even know how to ask a correct question! Also, if you haven't seen the story from the author who coined "Bush doctrine" in a column, you can always wikipedia the term and find that Bush doctrine really isn't close to what Gibson said it was!!!

Here's the scariest thing that came out of Gibson's interview with Palin: If elected, she's someone who would have her finger on 'the button', talks unflinchingly about war with Russia and never gave a second thought about her quaiifications -- or lack of -- when asked to run for the second highest office in the land????!!!! What would she do if confronted with what she might perceive to be an act of aggression by Russia -- act first, think later?

How lowly and shallow we've all become. Did you sit in on the interview with the ah-ha lingering on your lips. Did you open your mind, contemplate your countries future. No drill drill drill no drive drive drive. crawl home from Iraq better talk to the Carter generation folks, lest you forget. How powerful is this team? With the convention over the first thing on congresses agenda was discussion of off shore drilling, brought up by this team. The answer was to print a story about royalties misuse that this congress has over seen for three and a half years. They partook in it. When asked about Bush agenda, america paused because know one had the answer except those who researched and loaded the question. Who cares what Bushes agenda was it's time to set a new agenda. McCains Agenda, not the sitting do nothing congress agenda that Obama is going to have to follow because of Biden. Nope she's ready to learn, McCain will live alot longer and given an opportunity women may even start to be heard. Of course maybe you would rather wait like your sisters in Bagdad, or Iran. Russia cannot set my agenda. And your enemies do not want to have to deal with these two Americans.

Sarah Palin is a NEOCON media made candidate just like George Bush and just like this new
CHANGE candidate McCain has become.

THE NEOCONS HEADED BY BILL KRISTOL WHO IS WRITING SPEECHES FOR PALIN MADE THE
DETERMINATION TO WHITEWASH HER BACKGROUND AND PRESENT THIS "NEW" REPUBLICAN
FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION.

On every station most of the so-call journalists has NOTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT PALIN AND
IS DARING EVERY ONE TO ASK HER ANY PRESSING QUESTIONS. THEY CLAIM THIS SEXIST ATTITUDE TOWARD HER BUT WHAT IS REALLY IS "WHITE FEMALE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION"
SHE IS GETTING THE BREAKS THEY CLAIM BLACKS GOT FROM AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.

We have to challenge them EVERYDAY and call them lapdogs for Republicans. They were cowtowed
by rush limbaugh and the right wing evangelicals and they still dont have the
BALLS to tell truth to power.

THIS MAIINSTREAM MEDIA IS THE PITS.

Senator Obama needs an "Andrew Sheppard" moment like from the film American President.

The President in that film said that his opponent "needs to bring more than a membership card in the ACLU or a burning flag. That these are serious times which call for serious leaders and his opponent's 15 minutes are up"

Barack needs to say that they will need to come after him with more than lipstick and a pig. THat he will meet McCain anytime and in any place to debate the issues or meet with him in a Town Hall. Time to take off the gloves.

That is my favorite movie.
In the movie Bob Rumson did not miss an opportunity to sleaze, smear or down-right attack, Andrew Sheppard. NOT on the issues but on his character and personality. Yes, it's fiction, but how well does it parallel this race!?!?! Art in this case is truly imitating life. The more Rumson attacked Sheppard with lies and half-truths, the more his poll numbers went up, who’s to blame for that, I thought. You have to conclude the lazy American public, who accepted those attacks and negative dribble as FACT... Sound familiar...... Okay back to the real world...... Btu my question still remains…… How can the American Public be so hood-winked into believing this sleaze and half-truth from Sen. McCain about Sen. Obama!?!?! How can the American public then believe McCain's excuse, “the reason my campaign has gone negative, is because he won't debate me in town hall meetings...." That's like a spoiled child saying and doing whatever they can to get their way.

There is a very good ed-op piece in the Wash. Post by David Ignatius you must read:
