Even though the football season has ended for Denver quarterback Tim Tebow, his star still shines bright in the household of Kelly Faughnan, whose serendipitous...
Out of the mouths of babes came Tim Tebow's favorite Biblical verse. During the second quarter of last night's Broncos-Patriots game the Colorado Christian ministry...
Nevermind politicians and pundits. Certain Republican presidential candidates are hoping for an endorsement from an even higher power: Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. More than...
Tim Tebow is admirably inspired by his strong faith. But when he wears a uniform, he owes that team the respect of making his faith more private expression, less public spectacle.
Today I venture to do the unthinkable: try to convince liberals and progressives like myself to learn to love the latter-day poster boy of conservative Christian America.
Yes, I'm a Tim Tebow fan. And not only because he's the underdog who pulls off miraculous victories, the scrappy boyish quarterback who always snatches victory from the jaws of defeat.
One friend called me, frantic. He believed that Tebow's evolution into this charismatic evangelical Quarterback posed a threat for Muslim Americans like his teenage son.
The tide seems to have shifted. Jews went from not knowing what to make of Tim Tebow and his public displays faith to criticizing his fanaticism. Now, groups called "Jews for Tebow" are sprouting up everywhere.
I like to think that God is in the Tebow passes. But I am also making the effort to grow spiritually mature enough to know just as surely that God is not the perpetrator of the bad things that happen to us.
Men and women who are grateful to God for daily miracles as well as extraordinary acts of salvation may subscribe to either of the stories of Hanukkah.
Interestingly Fr. Jim knows that God hears all prayers but doesn't know why he doesn't answer them all. (Funny how believers know exactly what God does and what he wants in a variety of different ways but when it comes to a rational and reasoned response to why he allows, for example, suffering, we're back to the "God works in mysterious ways" nonsense).
Well Jim, how do you know or do you just like thinking that he does? Do you not know why he doesn't answer them because rational thinking might cause you to realise that he isn't there or if he is, he could care less?
To bring Lourdes into the conversation is not a good example. More people have had "miracle" cures, pro rata, that haven't been to Lourdes than those supposedly cured having made the trip there. God has a poor record at Lourdes - like he has everywhere else.
Fr Jim says, "God doesn't take sides". I suggest you look at God's record of deaths from disease and natural disasters and ask why he doesn't. Oh yes. We don't know.
If God is omniscient then he knows what we are going to pray for, as well as when; and whether he will answer them. That leads one to think that there's no point in praying.

What is wrrong is that folks know all then exploits about Tim Tebow but couldn't tell you what the name "Jesus" means. Isn't it written not tomlutnidols in front of Jesus?
Anyways, the answer to the question i lf whether God give preferential ear or arenall treated the same. Contrarynto popular opinion, God does give a preferential ear to those love Him and strive to obey Him. If you're constantly sinning and Tebow is not, the answer to really simply.

This is what's wrong with America. 3 quarterbacks had record breaking seasons, and most ASmericans don't know their name. But a second rate quarterback has become a celebrity for kneeling on the football field. Stop writing about him and he'll go away.

I don't think Tebow will be compared to Montana, Namath or Favre at the end of his career. But he did win the Heisman and lead his team into the play-offs this year. Calling him "second-rate" just makes you seem a bit silly.
Richbruin: I don't think Tebow will be compared to Montana, Namath
BTW, namath is not a great QB, nothwithstanding the magical 68 season leading to a Super Bowl. Way too many interceptions. This from a Jet fan who celebrated the Super Bowl win as a 10 year old, never thinking it might be the only one I would get.

LOL, God is a Phillies fan. Amen. It's the humorous asides like this, and all Fr. Jim's useful insights, makes for the main reasons why I love his videos so much!!

Yes.

But then, I don't believe anyone up there is listening.
