We know the pollsters and pundits all have their predictions and opinions but when you want to know the real odds on the election you always want to check with the sports books. For some reason the "bookies" are usually right! As of today Barack Obama is a significant favorite.
Of course betting on elections is illegal in the United States but just for entertainment purposes here are the latest odds on McCain vs. Obama.
John McCain is 3-2 (For every $200 wagered you'd win $300)
Barack Obama is 1-2 (For every $200 wagered you'd win $100)

I wager 1000 quatloots
If you are referring to a real election book, the odds (or point spread) are not set by the book according to predictions or probability. They are set so as to attract equal dollar betting on both outcomes. The book makes money on the vig.
Bookies and oddsmakers put their money where their mouth is making their info better than poll data any day! So thanks for posting this encouraging report.
If you are a betting man, McCane is the guy to pick
You lose a lot in Vegas, don't you? The suckers always bet on the sucker bets.
First of all, the name is spelled McCain and second of all, you're a fool to vote for a team picked to pander to the evangical far right and women in general. This is change only in the VP pick and is a slam to the Kay Bailey Hutchinson's and Christy Whittman Todd far more experienced than Ms. Palin. Pro-choice is the law of the land and should not be used as a bargining tool. You can say all you want to but until you're in office, only then can you start legislation to stop it. All the campaign rhetoric in the world doesn't change that fact. We have a conservative Court, let them do their job. A pit-bull in lipstick just doesn't cut it in my book.
I don't even use the term "Pro-choice" anymore. I talk about reproductive rights. The term refers to rights that guarantee liberty, as opposed to the slavery of an American citizen prevented from exercizing control over one's own body.
It's about freedom. And I immediately label any wingnut who wants to debate the point with me an enemy of freedom and therefore anti-American. Period.
I bet 5 cents on McCain.
And I already have $4600 on Obama.
