LOS ANGELES, CA (September 28, 2009)-- Los Angeles-based International relief agency Operation USA announced that it was preparing relief supplies to assist local health care agencies and NGOs in and around Manila as they try to assist nearly 450,000 people in immediate need of assistance as a direct result of flooding caused by torrential rains (totaling 18 inches--410 mm-- in just 24 hours) caused by Typhoon Ketsana, locally known as "Typhoon Ondoy". The relief group is appealing for donations of funds from the public and corporate donations in bulk of health care materials, water purification supplies and food supplements which it then ships to Manila from its base in the Port of Los Angeles.
