Looking for a soccer mom or a helicopter parent?

You won't find one in the workshops that Parents Across America will conduct at American University on July 28 and 29!

Three parents -- that's right, parents -- representing diverse populations and education issues will present and discuss "The New Parent Involvement."

You do not want to miss the July 28 workshop and panel discussion at 10:30 a.m., led by dynamic education activists.

Parents are teaming with educators across the nation to rally for common-sense education reforms at the Save Our Schools National March on July 30 in Washington, D.C.

Karran Harper Royal will discuss the charter school situation in New Orleans. Karran's compelling and heartbreaking story about New Orleans will encourage you to take action, if you are not already involved. Pamela Grundy of Charlotte, N.C. will discuss the impact on students with the wild expansion of testing underway. This, too, will influence you to become involved in the testing frenzy in your district or state. I will share lessons learned when a large school district in south Florida organized, mobilized and resisted a horrific and detrimental curriculum. The how-tos, the pitfalls and the successes will be addressed in a panel discussion. We are there for you.

Parents Across America has resources spanning 26 states now. If we don't have an answer for you, we will find it! Join us at "The New Parent Involvement" workshop on July 28 at American University.

My colleagues Karran, Pam and I look forward to meeting you on July 28.

All of Parents Across America's co-founders and regional directors are eager to greet you all on July 30 at noon at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. (on Constitution Avenue and 17th Street)!

Join us as we unite with educators, scholars, academics, business leaders, activists, parents and even celebrities, like Matt Damon, to put the "public" back in public education. The time is now. We're amid an education crisis. Don't miss this opportunity to have our voice be heard. Your presence will speak volumes to legislators working on the reauthorization of ESEA right now.

Help us chant PAA's motto at the Save Our Schools March on July 30 at the Ellipse:

"Our Schools. Our Children. Our Voices!"
