I am going to plead my extreme old age in offering the following opinion without documentation:

Barack Obama will go down as one of the most dynamic, eloquent, progressive, and humane presidents in our history, and only a nasty, selfish society such as our own would question his achievements. He has accomplished incredible things without an ounce of support from the opposition party or much encouragement from the media. He has kept his good nature in a bad-tempered, mean-spirited time.

I salute him, and am certain that history will salute him, too.
