Governor Palin's Reading List

Fascist writer Westbrook Pegler, an avowed racist who Sarah Palin approvingly quoted in her acceptance speech for the moral superiority of small town values, expressed his fervent hope about my father, Robert F. Kennedy, as he contemplated his own run for the presidency in 1965, that "some white patriot of the Southern tier will spatter his spoonful of brains in public premises before the snow flies."

It might be worth asking Governor Palin for a tally of the other favorites from her reading list.

I have not read all of the comments here, but if anyone has not already pointed this out, just looking at wikipedia would have revealed this:
His assertion in November 1963 (at the height of the civil rights movement) that it is "clearly the bounden duty of all intelligent Americans to proclaim and practice bigotry"; his embrace of the label racist, "a common but false synonym for Nazi, used by the bigots of New York"; or his habit of calling Jews "geese," because, "they hiss when they talk, gulp down everything before them, and foul everything in their wake," characterized his beliefs in the latter portion of his life.

When someone the likes of a member of the Kennedy family points something like this out....as well as teams up with Greg Palast of stealyourvoteback.com to distribute information to voters about how NOT to have their vote stolen (again) this year....
WHY DOESN'T ANYONE IN THE MEDIA OR GOVERNMENT STAND UP AND TAKE NOTICE?? (or at least launch an investigation into the the voter fraud?)

oh God, oh God....Robert's reminder of Pegler's hideous words brought that morning back too clearly.
I was pregnant, my baby just turned 40.
I went to bed watching Bobby smile & woke up to the unthinkable. The world was never the same.
Man's inhumanity to man....& the still unanswered question 'why'?
So, we all aged too quickly then. We each had to decide how to continue. Some of us turned bitter & gave up, quit.
But some of us....kept Hope alive.....Barack Obama is the embodiment of that Hope.

Robert Kennedy Jr. is a man who lives to make sure we remember his father, and I know I do - and I wait for the day when Robert F. Kennedy Jr. understands how much importance he holds dear to us forevermore, as he gives to us all as he possibly acts upon, without asking anything in return. Robert Kennedy Jr. has been a leader generations talk about to other generations. Lets not let him lost in time. This is how we feel about his family, the message his father gave to us as the greatest president who left it up to the people. Following in his footsteps is a magical thing. It's kinda' heartbreaking that your family has to be trotted out in so often for political gain by folks who, I guess, are jealous of the smart, caring, pragmatic, and inspirational leaders the Kennedys have been to this country over the decades.

How you maintain a mature sense of decorum amidst these kind of attacks is a testament to your honor Bobby Jr.

seeing how I don't have any honor to defend, I'll call it like I see it: Palin is a frightening right-wing violent extremist who has no business being anywhere near the White House. The republik party, who chose her and seem to get their rocks off on her, have made a fatal mistake.

Palin likely had no idea who the author she was quoting was. She just went to a quotable quotes site, found one that fit her immediate purposes, and attached the appropriate name to it. I've been a teacher most of my life, and I know a faker when I see one.

For the last time folks, Robert Kennedy, Jr. is the son of Robert Kennedy. RFK was the US senator from New York, and the Attorney General under his brother John's presidential administration. He was assasinated when campaigning for the presidency in 1968, hence the reason Mr. Kennedy has every reason to point out such heinous and unacceptable quotations that have relation to his father.

Thank you, Mr. Kennedy, for bringing this horrible fact to our attention. I am appalled by the use of the words of this demented man in a convention speech.

I want to express my deep appreciation for all that your family has done for our country and for those of us with the least power. Your family gave us hope in what we could accomplish with the support of our government. I think everyone would agree that in this age of cynicism this has been lost. But as your Uncle said in his speech, "the hope begins anew" with an Obama victory.
