Tell McCain to End the Politics of Hate has already received over 395,000 views and 90,000 petition signatures in only a week. This is an impressive start for sure, but we need to raise the stakes because McCain and his supporters have begun smearing Obama with a barrage of inflammatory robocalls.

As despicable as McCain's tactics have become, there's something we can do about it. Call McCain and the RNC using the script below. Let's create such an outcry that it becomes a story in the press, pressuring McCain to curb his sleazy ways.

When you call, please be as polite as possible, and try to stick to the script that our partner Color of Change has provided. I understand your anger over this issue, but it's key to stay composed so that they can't twist our message. And afterward, let us know how it went.

Here are the phone numbers:

McCain/Palin Campaign HQ: 703-418-2008

Republican National Committee: 202-863-8500; then press "3" at the prompt

Here's a brief script you can use:

I have a message for John McCain. I'm outraged that you're escalating your campaign of fear-mongering by using robocalls to try to associate Barack Obama with terrorists. It should come as no surprise that this strategy has led to a dangerous, hateful atmosphere on your campaign trail. I don't want to see Americans divided by fear and hate, and I'm deeply concerned about where this could lead. For the sake of our country, take some responsibility and stop this now.

Let's put a stop to the race-baiting and fear-mongering once and for all. Make the call today.
