John McCain's Health Records Must Be Released!

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

The state of John McCain's health is an issue of grave concern for all Americans, regardless of political persuasion.  Given the fact that he has been treated for an invasive melanoma and other maladies, it is important that he release his full health records.

For a very brief three hours in May, McCain released 1,173 pages of his medical records to a carefully selected group of reporters.  They were not allowed to make any copies or phone calls.  Why such secrecy?

We have enlisted a group of doctors from around the country to lead the effort to make sure the public is able to see and make judgments for themselves.  Secrecy is not of service to our democracy, transparency is.

Cancer is a serious issue.  That's why 30 medical doctors have already signed our open letter telling McCain to issue a full, public disclosure of all his medical records.  Send this video far and wide to request that McCain release his full health records.  Ask every medical doctor you know to sign onto the letter, and be sure to sign the letter yourself!  McCain's records must be made public and soon.

While McCain doesn't really care about our health care, we all should care about the health of McCain.

What about Obama's health records? He has only released ONE PAGE.

MCCAIN WILL WIN ON ISSUES LIKE RACE, ABORTION, HOMOSEXUAL RIGHTS AND OTHER THINGS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GOVERNMENT. OBAMA, IF HE LOSES, WILL LOSE BECUSE OF THINGS LIKE HIS NAME "HUSSEIN", AND BECAUSE HE IS AFRICAN AMERICAN. MOST PEOPLE DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THE GRAVE ISSUES CONFRONTING THIS COUNTRY AND SETTLE ON THINGS THEY CAN UNDERSTAND TO MAKE THEIR DECISIONS.

McCain released his records back in May. This is just a transparent attempt to stir up questions about his health closer to the election, even though those were answered in May. I think people will see through this and figure out what you're doing. It's very obvious.

I think you're wrong about everybody sharing concerns about McCain's health. Conservatives are quite comfortable that he has "one foot in the grave" because then they'll get their real first choice of president, Sarah Palin. She's an empty shell waiting to be filled with Neocon foreign policy and 'Big Oil' lobbyist's economic policy.

We not only need to see his health records but should also be demanding to see his military records as well. I don't understand why he's keeping either of them secret unless there's something in them he doesn't want us to know. This is a man who's trying to become the 44th pres of the USA and I believe all of the candidates need to make this information available to us. Otherwise, how can we make an informed vote in this election?

OBAMA CAMPAIGN, this needs to be an ad, it is the most power ful message to date not only for old John, but WHY Sara cannot be VP! It is worth every cent to do this. I have emailed to friends and they have all had the same reaction, USE IT!!!

If all those powerful men think that they can control Palin and make her a puppet after Mccain becomes too sick or otherwise, it is not going to happen. She might play into their hands for a short while, but will definitely throw them out and bring in unqualified loyalists and former highschool classmates in top positions. Too scary to think that Alaska's co governor (who once wanted to secede from America) is going to play a major role in all of this.
There is too much secrecy surrounding Mccain's health. We need answers.

They will make Palin a puppet, though, because her knowledge and understanding of governance is so limited. The "hire and fire" methods that she has so far used to climb her way into Alaska's governorship will be like wielding a hockey stick in the face of the "stealth bomber" tactics that people like Cheney and Rove have always employed.

Maybe a deal could be struck with Obama on releasing records. Since liberals say they like transparency.

McCains medical records for Obamas Columbia records.

Obama released his medical records on May 31, 2008 in response to pressure from the McCain camp. McCain did not and still has not done so.

After eight years of the Reagan Puppet Presidency, and another eight of Bush's Howdy Doody Show, we cannot afford to allow the Neocons to install Puppet Palin .

I suspect that the inner circle knows that McCain won't last a full term, and that is why Sarah was pushed so hard.

Right now, J. Sidney is enjoying the shadow of the Palin spotlight, and may have no idea how he's being played. But the American people need to WAKE UP and see the disaster looming on the horizon should the GOP take the White House once again.

Palin doesn't even seem to realize the danger she puts her own state in by sabar rattling at Russia. After all, Alaska is close to Russia, and Russia does have "nukular" weapons.

PEACE

I'm a physician, who supported McCain in 2000; however the sun has set on John. I'm seeing some significant cognitive decline here. I signed the letter regarding the release of his medical records. His age and health are definitely huge issues, especially given his choice of a woefully unqualified VP.

McCain chose Sarah Palin as his VP. Consequently, Americans now need to DEMAND his medical records immediately.

I concur with you, fellow physician. Unless McCain becomes a Puppet President. The released records should be also examined by physicians not just reporters with no medical background.

I'm not a physician but something is wrong when he appears in clothes that are too big on him.
He appears to be shrinking.

It is truly scary that Palin may end up as v.p., let alone president, if mccain gets ill. It's a real nightmare. If they are put into the whitehouse, that will be it for america - it will definitely become a 3rd world country with high debt, low gnp, etc. But, for those who fall for the tricks each election, they won't believe it until they see it...no food, no infrastructure, etc. They think america is great by default and will continue to be so....it's as if they don't live in the real world at all....

It's just simply scary....mccain showed how he truly feels about america with his v.p. choice....

Here is another fabulous post :
"It is a fact that McCain has had multiple bouts with Melanoma, one of cancers that has a high probability of spreading. He is already showing signs of dementia, confusion and memory lapses. It might be age or equally likely that the cancer has spread to his brain. Sadly, there is a 50-70% chance this man will either lose his faculties or die in the next five years. In a time when this country has so many serious problems, I question the patriotism of his handlers and the republican party. Wrapping themselves in the american flag and chanting makes good TV, but do they really put this wonderful country ahead of ambition and their party? If McCain wins, Sarah will be president. Her experience may suffice if one believes her followers, but how can "experience" matter if it is not based on a depth of knowledge on the issues facing us? At least Obama / Biden and other party nominees start out educated and knowledgeable, this woman is proud of her "willful ignorance". I am a member of the medical community and a woman who lived under Golda Meir, Indira Gandhi and Margeret Thatcher, so will not buy questioning Palin's qualifications as "Sexism". As a democracy I realize even idiots get representation, it is indeed a shame that Bush set the bar so low! The McCain campaign is a testimony to mediocrity, this election will indeed show where america's future wants to be."

Bush Inc. doesn't want to be accountable during the next Presidency and wants to maintain power and war profiteering, indefinitely.

Here is a wonderful post I read "I think that this is a very real concern. I am a physician, and the hospital(a hospital on the list of 100 Best Hospitals by US News and World Reports)that I work at does not allow anyone over the age of 65 to be a Chairman of a Department- you must step down. Pilots are no longer allowed to fly commercial aircrafts at the age of 65. Why is this? Because the physiology and psychology of aging suggests that there may be concern about physical and mental ability in a high stress, physically demanding job. This is a very real concern with McCain given that he is melanoma survivor.

Just as the country is talking about race and gender in term of voting, the country must consider this fact in their decision. To suggest otherwise is ignorant."

Michael Eisner and many CEOs of public cos. have mandatory retirement at 65. Executive responsibilities require stewardship, sorely lacking over the last 8 years. We don't want management by undisclosed Committee -- as we have had under Reagan and Bush.

just like that Texas maverick, Lil George did in his pickup last time. Vote Obama!

Interestingly, McCain has voted against all VA bills that I've seen over the years. Pathological is the term that comes to mind with such an abysmal record. It's as if this man is using his status as a legislator to singularly damage and harm as many veterans as he can. Voting against any and all funding, actively seeking to undermine and eliminate VA support systems is something possibly explained of a person who wants every veteran to suffer the pain and imprisonment he had to suffer. A fraternity operates on the assumption that the fellows that went through hazing must haze the incoming fellows in order to "belong". Is it that simple? McCain's medical records would show the public the answer.
