McCain's "Spiritual Guide" Wants America to Destroy Islam

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

You may have heard of Rev. John Hagee, the McCain supporter who said God created Hurricane Katrina to punish New Orleans for its homosexual "sins." Well now meet Rev. Rod Parsley, the televangelist megachurch pastor from Ohio who hates Islam. According to David Corn of Mother Jones, Parsley has called on Christians to wage war against Islam, which he considers to be a "false religion." In the past, Parsley has also railed against the separation of church and state, homosexuals, and abortion rights, comparing Planned Parenthood to Nazis.

John McCain actively sought and received Parsley's endorsement in the presidential race. McCain has called Parsley "a spiritual guide," and he hasn't said whether he shares Parsley's vicious anti-Islam views. That's because the mainstream media refuses to ask. And so, we've taken matters into our own hands, joining Mother Jones to present the truth about McCain's pastor.

Since the media won't question McCain about his deeply bigoted pastor, it's up to you to call attention to this issue. Make McCain's pastor problem a major story by forwarding this video to your family, friends, and colleagues.

We can't let McCain get away with aligning himself with a religious leader who's called for an all-out war on Islam, someone who draws no distinctions between Muslims and violent Islamic extremists. Now is the crucial time to act.

It's a shame that bigots and homophobes like Hagee and Parsley (and Robertson, Dobson, etc.) have such large following, it gives a veneer of religiosity to their hatred and ignorance. We can't let people like this continue to define the religious agenda simply because they are talking the loudest!

A) You are the media questioning the relationship between McCain and this so-called spiritual guide

b) Why should this matter in the presidential race any more than the Rev. Wright matters?

It is just so monumentally scary to think what "Christians", in this country, are willing to buy in the way of a Presidential candidate. Equally scary, as you noted, the paucity of coverage given to McCain's choice of religious mentors. I don't think that the MSM is going to totally ignore McCain's choice but it will be a wrist slap, by comparison to the gut shots given Obama. In spite of the Repuglican push, on behalf of Clinton, Obama is the one they want. The Repugs, and their operatives are going to "Nigga" the hell out of him, just you wait and see. They didn't need Hillary to play the race card (though it didn't hurt their plans) in order to take Obama down, there will be plenty more slurs to come down the pike.
Why don't the Repuglicans put David Duke on the ticket, and just be done with it.

More people have been killed in the Name of Christ or some other God ( Religion) Than any other cause. The best example's that I can come up with at this time are the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition.
A wisw man oncw said " Tolerance is the best way to avoid conflict.". Right or Wrong each person has a right to worship as they see fit as long as it does not harm others.

This man, Rod Parsley is an extremist as bad as OBL.

In 2000 I thought McCain was the real McCoy. Not anymore. He still is capable of turning on the charm, but I am old enough to know that anyone can turn on the charm for a few minutes. It doesn't make them a good, or a wise person. It takes time to get to know someone, and I have gotten to know this candidate. We can do better. We need better.

Here's your problem. Neither do many Americans if not most. Why else would it matter whether Obama was a practicing muslim at the age of 10 and why else would Obama find it necessary to vehemently deny it as if somebody had just called him a pedophile. I do feel sorry for the regular law abiding muslim american, and I will concur with your sense of outrage on that any day. But if you want to single out McCain or for that matter this Parsley guy it just aint gonna stick. You might as well accuse McCain of condoning violence against animals for being a meat-eater.

Sadly I agree with "bubbainca". this aint gonna stick. Se what Rev. Wright did was he scared white ppl. What this shrill of a bastard is he scares Muslims, who make up an indistinguishable portion of our electorate.
This video will have an affect if it is played on TV Networks in Muslim/Muslim Majority countries, and then they ask the leaders of these countries would they meet with McCain or even work when he has friends like Parsley. Although these leaders are losers since they dont have the support of the will of the ppl, this will put them in a corner.
Sadly, what this video will also do is give credit to maniacs like the AQ types who will no doubt say "See America is out to get us Muslims" and they will use this video to recruit ppl.
Parsley, you sir are a DOUCHE BAG!!!!!!!!

Although these comments are harsh, they aren't that far off. I have studied Islam for 3 years now, going back to 610 A.D. when mohammed had his first "revelation". The undeniable conclusion is that it is a "false" religion that is spread by force and oppression. I do believe Parsley has over-stepped the boundries of what a man of God should be saying. I can however state the terrorist problem the world faces today is not going away and that islam is fueling the fire.Everyone should spend a solid amount of time researching mohammed and the teachings contained in the koran.

Which religions do you think are not false?

Here we go. My god can beat up your god. No one can question your faith but you call the faith of millions of Muslims 'false'. Please explain the difference between a false religion and a real one.

I believe there is only one God. Two Gods does not make sense and they would be in conflict with each other. In this case, islam vs Christianity, you have God giving two totally different revelations. One covering a period of aprox. 4,000 years. The other came 600 years later thru mohammed. One is filled with miracles, prophesy and outside supporting evidence. For islam, you have one man claiming God spoke to him in a cave, no miracles of any kind. The fact that islam incorporates many of the figures from the Bible into the koran leads one to believe its a fabrication. Why would God give two different accounts of Himself to man? This is a very complex issue and without study and research its hard to understand what I'm getting at.

So, what would you suggest should be done about the 3 million plus members of Islam in this country - force and oppress them to believe what you believe?

I live in Columbus Ohio, home to Parsley's megachurch. He used to be just an ordinary money-grubbing flock-fleecing televangelist until a few years ago when he figured out that politics is where the really big money is.
