Because everyone has just gotten used to McCain making these types of blunders. He and Palin can say whatever they want. The only people who are going to vote for them are the 30% who still like Bush, as well as the racist Democrats who will never vote for a black man. So McCain's gaffes are absolutely irrelevant.
Sad but true...
