To celebrate the launch of his new book, Jarrett J. Krosoczka is going to read his story, but Krosoczka storytime will be viral. Each hour on the hour from 9 am to 5pm on Tuesday, October 11th, the author will read his new book, his first in four years, Ollie the Purple Elephant (Random House, 2011) to all who are logged onto his Ustream channel. The book is about Ollie, a purple elephant who is lost and has no place to call home. He finds a home with the McLoughlins but their cat and neighbor have other plans for Ollie. Krosoczka is also the creator of the popular Lunch Lady comic picturebook series.

Librarians, educators and parents can log onto http://www.ustream.tv/channel/studiojjk for free to view the Krosoczka 20 minute storytime and after each reading viewers can submit questions via a chat function.

"This is an exciting experiment. I may have a hundred schools viewing at once," Krosoczka, the Northampton, MA resident, said. "I decided to offer the Ollie Virtual Storytime throughout the day because I knew that it is a mighty tricky thing to schedule elementary school students."

Signed and personalized books are available through my local independent bookstore, The Odyssey Bookshop -

I have all of the information located here: http://www.studiojjk.com/ollievirtualstorytime.html
