You know you shouldn't be glued to your phone all the time, but even if it's not buzzing, chirping, or ping-ing, it's so easy to absentmindedly sink into the endless feed scroll. Resist! Whether it's disrupting your sleep or undermining your happiness, your phone is probably doing more harm than good.

Fortunately, there's a new incentive to help you keep that phone out of your hand: Do Nothing. Do Good. This app times how long your phone isn't used to accumulate "Do Good Hours." Then, &Barr, the company behind the app, spends these hours by going out into the world and volunteering on your behalf.

Need a few ideas of what to do instead of surfing your phone? Here are a few from Do Nothing. Do Good:

• Take a walk

• Host a paper football tournament

• Draw a clown

• Actually read Moby Dick

• Make a pizza

• Bathe

• Write a letter—the pen and paper kind

• Flip your mattress

• Get a massage.
