Would the the person whose post I responded to please re-post your comment? I think it was coldlmpin. I would really like to access your sources. Thanks.
I think you're missing the point of my article, though I appreciate your looking at it from the level of chronology. Send credible links to your source. I'm interested in finding out as much as possible about who the decision makers were, the writers, and the thought process involved in structuring this story, including its various iterations, script changes, date of changes, etc. It sounds like you have an inside connection. Care to share?
One of the things about Fox is that they know how to tap into the most potent forms implicit racial bias and inflammatory imagery in this country and always remain "timely" and "relevant" because they help keep them alive. Recall that the two first Presidents of the the '24' TV series were Black. The first one was assassinated and the second was responsible for allowing nuclear dirty bombs into the country causing mass destruction.
Amen to that. Sometimes the best way to make a statement is to give our money to someone who doesn't support a rabble rouser of the worst kind of rabble. Its so transparent. When future generations look back at this historical time, Limbaugh will be compared to Bull Connor. History has a way of telling the truth that people in the present are afraid to do. Maybe all Rush's fans would not have been the ly chers and separatists from the days of old. At least they don't think they are the modern version of those people from another time, but they are lying to themselves. There won't be the comfortable cushion of more decades of inequality and injustice to hide behind. People are calling them out as bigots right this moment and shaming them to apology. Rush can lock himself in a radio station and shut out the world and spew his hatred until the end of time but outside that tight studio, the world has changed.
What's he complaining about anyway? Right now there are just enough people listening to his spew to keep him in a job until his..retirement. A middle-aged man who is overweight and smokes cigars should take better care of himself or he wont be around to poison the next generation of ditto heads. Somehow I don't think he would be that much of a threat to newer and better educated generations of people, though, so let him keep talking.
Good analogy between Bull Connor and Limbaugh. Both are cruel, racist thugs who abuse their power and authority in the service of injustice. Whereas Connor abused his power as a "public servant," Limbaugh abuses the power of the public's airwaves. Connor used water canons and dogs, Limbaugh uses lies and demagoguery.
And the "ditto heads" are the modern day lynch mobs.
The other person Limbaugh resembles is the radio personality from the 1930s-40s named Father Coughlin. Check this link out and you'll see the immediate resemblance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Coughlin
Thank you Mr. Robinson. I was beginning to wonder if anybody else was picking up on the sub text of Rush's rabble rousing right wing rantings. He's speaking directly to gun toting, southern evangelical, white, racist redneck repug base and he knows it's not President Obama's politics that are the true reason for their wrath. No matter how much good President Obama does for this country, even if his economic policies makes these peoples' lives better, those of the ilk of Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter will still be able to take anything that they can spin into an imagined slight and turn it into a cause for revolution.

Amen, Brother Ron, Amen!
Who are the advertisers on 24? I've never seen the show, but I have heard about it. If I had a list of said ads, I'd be glad to boycott the products.
Can you perhaps get some folks to pitch in and help track that info down? We need all the help we can get. Thanks so much for your interest.
A friend of mine just wrote me to say her mother changed her car insurance FROM Geico because they advertise on Limbaugh's show.
It's time to start a movement, or in the famous words of the Blues Brothers - "Get the band back together again :-)

Don't you see the pattern here?

Absolutely. That's why Palin and her husband's secessionist and militia ties are critical to their confederate shenanigans.
Somebody needs a nap.
