Whether it's the quiet confidence of a friend who offers great advice or the captivating confidence of an inspirational speaker, self-confident people have qualities everyone admires.

Self-confidence plays a big role in almost every aspect of our lives. But so many people struggle to find it. The good news is that self-confidence really can be learned; a habit you can create. And, building confidence in yourself is well-worth the effort!

Here are 7 great ways to help you boost your confidence quickly:

1.Smile More. Smiling makes you feel good and fools your mind into being happier. When you feel good about life, you're more likely to feel good about yourself. Elevating your mood will elevate your confidence level.

2.Know who you are, the good and the bad. Why is it so important to know what you don't like about yourself? Because knowing opens the door to improving, allowing you to start changing what you don't like about yourself. It also allows you to be aware of what your capable of, which ultimately shines a light on what you're great at, building your confidence.

3.Forget the comparisons. You are you and that's all anyone ever expects. You were created to be uniquely you and your path is not the same as anyone else's so don't compare yourself to them. Be proud of who you are.

4.Make a list. No matter how silly or insignificant it may seem, create a list of 10 things you really like about yourself. Read this list over and over every day. Read it aloud, the act of listening to your own voice compliment you is very powerful to your brain. Continue to add to your list frequently. Watch your confidence start to soar.

5.Be prepared. When you're prepared for a presentation, a project, a party, whatever it is, you naturally feel more confident. Take some time to create your action plan, know what you need to get done and prepare in advance. Waiting until the last minute will make you feel rushed and leave you wondering if you forgot something, which will have you second-guessing yourself and lowering your confidence.

6.Identify your passions. When you're living your passion and purpose, you're naturally happier and more confident because it brings out the best in you. Having direction gives you meaning and security, ultimately leading to confidence.

7.Be yourself. When you are simply yourself, you'll realize that all the masks you've worn were only holding you back. Owning who you are frees you from judgement and comparison; you begin to exude confidence. Deep down, you are aware of your unique value and talents. Let go of the insecurity and be proud of who you are.
