Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No... it's you!

It's fair to say I've had the craziest week of my life.

All that glitters is not gold - It's a saying that packs a real punch for me. Just six months ago, I landed what I thought was my dream Comms/PR job. Only, it wasn't.

Not because of the job, but because of me. Somewhere between resigning from a job I'd had and enjoyed for five years and taking up a new position, I'd found my passion.

In its simplest form, passion is your power. As the great Oprah Winfrey famously said: "Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you."

To quote the fabulous Naomi Simson (Founder of RedBalloon): "I know passion when I feel it because all of a sudden I simply cannot think about anything else. It is as if something has taken over my life."

And that's just it.

My passion and belief that words can change things has taken over my life.

Why have I had the craziest week of my life? A little over a week ago, I was so driven by this uncontrollable energy I quit my stable, well-paid job to focus on doing something that feeds my soul.

To be honest, it wasn't really an option towards the end. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't concentrate at work. My body was telling me to take the plunge and no wasn't an acceptable answer.

Now, here I am: It's 3:17 a.m. in Melbourne, Australia and I was so inspired by an email response from Arianna Huffington, my only option was to tap away at my laptop's keys.

And so this is where my passion (and super power) has taken me: No steady income, no upcoming pay reviews or bonuses, no certainty... Yet, deep down inside, I know everything will be okay.

Call me crazy, and believe me, until the messages of support from family, friends and even strangers (yes, I've received replies from Arianna, Naomi and the Founder of Carmen's Kitchen, Carolyn Creswell), I really thought I was a little touched: Now, I believe anything is possible for me.

From what I've gathered over the last couple of days, people find it incredibly inspiring to swap the certain for everything that is uncertain in the pursuit of a dream.

I've spent countless hours watching my favorite superhero Buffy: The Vampire Slayer on TV (yes, I've blogged about this before too). Since watching, I've always been impressed by her abilities as 'the chosen one'.

Well now, thanks to passion, I've found my super power.

So I guess the question now is: When are you going to have the courage to find and take hold of yours?
