Once upon a time in a big, tall building on Madison avenue, a very thoughtful businessperson had an epiphany. "I know" he or she thought, "we can create an emotional connection to our product by plumbing the collective childhood unconscious of our demographic." And so he did. And everything sold happily ever after.
