Newspapers with their reviews help books and they maintain a special channel of communication care in my opinion.I would strongly recommend Winning by Jack Welch and Suzy Welch. If you judge books by class and content, Jack Welch's Winning certainly grabs your attention. Powerful testimonials on the back come from none other than the superbly talented Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Rudy Giuliani, and Tom Brokaw, and other praise comes from Fortune, Business Week, and Financial Times. As the legendary retired CEO of General Electric, Jack Welch has won many friends and admirers in high places. In this latest book, he strives to show why. Winning describes the management wisdom that Welch built up through four and a half decades of work at GE, as he transformed the industrial giant from a sleepy "Old Economy" company with a market capitalization of some $4 billion to a new dynamic giant one worth nearly half a trillion dollars.

John C Maxwell is the best business writer - positive & powerful ideas for work and life. I have all his books and my favorites at the moment are "Thinking For A Change" and "Talent Is Never Enough".

Tom Peters - he challenges you to think from different perspectives. Love "Reimagine".

Most of what is written about business is not business.

These "blog talk entrepreneurs" crack me up. This is what passes for entrepeneurship in America these days?

It's nice that the "Young Entrepreneur Society" guy looks like he's 43.

Probably should be some books about failures as well. I do not recall the title, but on NPR, an author describes the nightmare of the death spiral of a successful publishing company because the other partner, who was a friend of his father, was an alcoholic.

The moral of the fable, was "Know the people you're going into business with."

5 I recommend:

1. The E Myth (try to find the original edition), Mike Gerber
2. The Success System That Never Fails, William Clement Stone
3. The 4 Hour Work Week, Tim Feriss
4. Warren Buffett and the Interpretation of Financial Statements, Mary Buffett and David Clark
5. How to Hire A-Players, Eric Herrenkohl

...and one more for the win:

6. Getting to Plan B, John Mullins and Randy Komisar
