More Supporters of Anti-Choice Terrorism Linked to McCain

We learned yesterday about a linkage between militant anti-choice terrorist Paul Schenck and Sen. John McCain, and tonight Keith Olberman reported about yet another linkage to some of the most extreme anti-choice activists. It seems obvious that the McCain campaign is comfortable with the extreme tactics of the most violent parts of the "Pro-life" movement, even while some genuinely Pro-life people, including leading conservative and Republican Catholic scholars, are suggesting it is time for a change in strategies. Many of us on the progressive side of the issue would say its well past time for a change in their strategies, away from the violence and other tactics that only serve to undermine our democracy and do nothing to educate people or work to prevent unintended pregnancies.

How lightly you throw around the word "terrorist." Let me suggest common ground on this issue: to be a terrorist, one must at least commit violence or advocate it. Please say if you disagree.

Let's see, Bill Ayers actually bombed things. What did Paul Schenck bomb? Can you name one? Can you identify one attack or violent thing the man has ever done? Oh, he was arrested. Tell me, if one is arrested for a nonviolent sit-in, is that an act of violence? Were Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. terrorists, by your definition? Show me one arrest of Schenck that involved violence. Identify one quote where the man advocated violence. Well, he had met the man who shot an abortionist, and he conducted nonviolent protest at the same site where that man also conducted nonviolent protest before that man (not Schenck) turned violent (and before, as well as immediately afterwards, Schenck unequivocally condemned the violence)? This is proof that Schenck is a terrorist?

The fact is, you and the pro-abortion movement define any nonviolent public protest of abortion as "militant" and "violent". Why don't you just be honest with your readers about that fact, instead of using the violence, militant, and terrorist label without justification?

What about in the debate when McCain said we helped the 'Freedom Fighters' drive the russians out of Afghanistan. Those "Freedom Fighters' he helped turned out to be Al Qaeda the Taliban and Bin LAden. Mccain twice publically admitted to helping terrorists. Bin Laden and the Afghan 'maujahideen used the same terrorist tactics they use now to drive the Russians out bu he called theem 'Freedom Fighters'

A great teacher once spoke to multitudes and said, "In the same way that you judge you shall be judged."
