I'm clearly not joking when I say this news fits into the Kind Of a Big Deal category: A British veggie breeding company called Tozer Seeds has cross-bred two of our favorite greens, kale and Brussels sprouts, to create a hybrid they're calling "Kalettes."

OK, the name definitely brings to mind a row of greens spinning on stage at Radio City Music Hall, but we'll let that go for now. Superfood kale, packed with nutrients and antioxidants combined with fiber-filled Brussels sprouts means our mind is blown and we want it on our plates, asap.

So what will it taste like? According to the company's Facebook page, the new veggie rocks a "fresh fusion between sweet and nutty!"

Sadly, we'll have to wait till the fall before they'll show up in produce departments Stateside -- or take a trip across the pond looking for the British name, Flower Sprouts!

Veggie-philes, are you down to taste test this new creation or do you think you'll just keep with the originals?
