Sarah Palin Lost the W.A.R.

After weeks of losing ground, the joint body of the Alaska legislature has voted to reject Wayne Anthony Ross as Attorney General.

Our representation has debated at length Governor Palin's controversial appointment and they have been distracted from state business in the critical waning days of the session. I believe that was part of the design of the appointment.

Sarah Palin is 3000 miles, and 3 time zones away in Indiana. She was not present to lobby her appointment.

They have denied Wayne Anthony Ross.

This vote by the joint legislative body reveals a growing bipartisan lack of confidence in Governor Palin's ability to make critical appointments.

The Combined Vote: 23 yeahs 35 nays. DENIED.

Just another failed WAR effort by the republicans.

Congratulations Alaska!
Ross told a reporter Wednesday, "it seems to me the most important thing that can be done by the Senate is not argue with legal or illegal but to appoint somebody to represent Juneau." Later, WAR denied having said that--even though it was recorded by the ADN reporter.
Legal--illegal. No big deal coming from a candidate for Attorney General. Hmmm...
Thank You! legislators for hearing the testimonies, asking questions, giving thoughtful consideration to what the expectations are from an Attorney General.

Not insignificantly, according to the Anchorage Daily News, this is the first time in state history that the legislature has failed to confirm a governor's nominee to head a state agency!!!

she is in indiana because she doesnt want to be in alaska when the stimulus money is approved..so she can say during the next prez run that she didnt want it....also!

my sympathies to alaska for sarah who is inept and continuously absent since she discovered the national spotlight..also!

I think she wasn't there because she knew he would be rejected. But then why waste so much time and energy trying to make a point will most likely discredit her? Maybe she thinks saying "I appointed a pro-life and real american but they didn't let me" will help her in a future campaign?
it's nonsense!

When will Alaska get rid of palin and find a governor who wants to work for the people of Alaska?
05:14 AM on 04/17/2009
Impeachment signs are already popping up in Alaska. Her poorly thought out choice for AG clarifies her lack of knowledge. She is a poor govenor, in way over her head. Alaska suffers, natives suffer, children starve out in the Bush, she looks for glory in the lower 48. Alaskans have really had their eyes opened when the press started looking at her after McCain nominated her. Her blahtant use of state funds, the question of who really built her house and why remains a mystery. Palin has lost all credibility in Alaska, she never really had the credibility but people were willing to give her a chance. that's all done now. She is moose stew.

I hope and pray that the good people of Alaska can muster the strength to pull this off. Impeachment of this arrogant, grossly inept state governor would send a loud and unmistakable message throughout every Red state in the Union == We will not tolerate your backward-thinking, fear-mongering political agenda any more!!!!

Is there a teabag's chance in H E L L that Miz Palin will nominate this guy to Attorney General ANYWAY despite the Alaskan legislature's smack-down??

Somehow I don't see Snowzilla taking this bit of news peacefully. Does she have the legal right to appoint WAR into office without any legislative approval??

Sarah Palin is not only a disaster as a representative for Family Values, she is a horrible governor for the people of her state. Her only reason for abandoning the responsibilities of her current office was to take the opportunity to slam the Obama administration for its position on a woman's right to CHOOSE.

Watch out, Alaska. There's more to come from this woman.

That family value thing can sure get you in trouble. Those family value people just loved Reagan who never went to church. Yet these are the same bunch that is whining about President Obama not attending church as much. I am willing to bet Reagan didn't go to church as much as Obama did. Yeah those family values sure can get in you trouble. I certainly wouldn't look for Sarah to represent family values that is for sure.

Sarah Palin's decision to attend a dinner that has nothing to do with her state, but is a good photo op for her his pretty self serving. Convenient timing on her part to not be in the state knowing her AG appointment was probably not going to get approved. She's not quite as brainless as she portrays herself...the emphasis is not quite.
09:06 AM on 04/17/2009
Don't think the GOP primary candidates will forget it. She gives them ammunition every time she opens her mouth. The primary campaign, if Palin decides to run, won't be pretty. She'll be whining at every turn about how unfairly those in her own party are treating her.
