The Content Brief: LinkedIn's Long Game Pays Off

Quick: how many social networks can you name that date back to 2003 and still make Wall Street swoon? Probably not many. In fact, maybe only one: LinkedIn.

While you probably know about LinkedIn as a career tool, you may not know what it can do for your business. Whether sharing content, promoting products or encouraging prospective employees, companies are catching on to the potential. One study by marketing software company HubSpot found that LinkedIn was 277% more effective for lead generation than Facebook and Twitter.

And Twitter's decision in July to stop allowing users to post their Tweets automatically to LinkedIn turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It allowed LinkedIn to focus on its own news feed, which now boasts the ability to add attachments, comment, like, share and highlight posts at the top of the feed, making it even easier for you to distribute your content.
