“Ow!” I had to pinch myself and yes, it hurt. Three of my feature projects, the only three I have actually, are being considered by A list stars. DOWN, BOY! went to a romantic comedy heroine we have known and loved for several years now over the weekend. SHAKESPEARE’S HENRY IV is being read by a fantastic actor who would do a great job and make an interesting cultural and political statement at the same time. And, the reason for my pinch, I’d just gotten a date for a meeting in London with an Oscar nominated actress for the lead in NEVER TOO LATE, the script I wrote and will direct.

It never rains but it pours.

Having been an actor myself for a long time before turning to directing and producing, this whole notion of “stars” is rather odd to me. There’s part of me that still considers this whole endeavor art and thinks we should love the projects we take on. And, yes… I am probably projecting this on to other people.

So, I’m off to another “meet and greet.” This time, I’ve got some “stars”in my proximity. I’ll let you know how that changes things.
