Sony has decided to ditch hard format discs on its new PSP Go. Sony, which in the past used a special formatted "Universal Media Disc, which, despite its name, and like all Sony products, was hardly universal, will instead use flash memory and digital downloads for games. The PSP Go, which is wi-fi compatible, includes a 16gb hard drive.
Jay Leno's final episode of The Tonight Show took in the best numbers in the host's career. Leno's final broadcast took in an 8.8 rating/20 share. The ratings boost proved to be 100% over Leno's quarterly average. Conan O'Brien will take over as the host of NBC's staple late night show tonight.
Pixar's Up took the number one position at the box office this week. The Disney Pixar film took in $68.2 million dollars in its opening weekend to become Disney Pixar's third best opening weekend performer, behind The Incredibles and Finding Nemo. In proof that producing hits is better than managing for margins, UP, which opened the Cannes Film Festival, received a 98% on movie review site Rotten Tomatoes and an A+ on Cinemascore.
Infamous record producer Phil Spector has been sentenced to nineteen years to life in prison for the murder of Lana Clarkson. Spector, whose outrageous antics have garnered much attention from the press, originally got off as a jury could not conclude on a verdict.
