Survivor Ethan Zohn Goes Social for "Two Guys Marathon for Millions" Campaign

Posted: 10/19/11 04:29 PM ET

Cancer survivor and Survivor winner, Ethan Zohn and ING NYC Marathon winner Meb Keflezighi are racing each other raise money for charities on Crowdrise.

Ethan joined us via Skype to talk about his "Two Guys Marathon for Millions" campaign with Meb, which has them battling to raise money for their respective philanthropies on Edward Norton's Crowdrise.com, leading up to the race day on November 6, 2011.

The 2011 ING New York City Marathon has a goal of raising more than $1 million per mile of the 26.2 miles. The donations will be assisting Ethan's charity, Grassroot Soccer, founded to educate, inspire and mobilize youth to stop the spread of HIV through education and life skills programs; as well as Meb's, the MEB Foundation, which empowers youth and their families to lead healthy, active, balanced lives through sports, but also dozens of other charities of every mission and size across the country.

When talking about why he chose to use Crowdrise, Zohn told me, "Edward Norton did an incredible job organizing this. Basically it's creating a community."

You can donate to Ethan's team today at crowdrise.com/TeamGrassrootSoccer and to Meb's team at crowdrise.com/TeamMebNYC2011.
