“Hey college students that follow Ron Paul:

4 reasons not to vote for Paul

[1] He doesn't believe in evolution. Means he doesn't believe in facts or reason.
[2] He doesn't believe in climate change. I wonder what he would tell citizens from Maldives and the Carteret islands?
[3] He doesn't believe in the separation of Church and State.
[4] He believes in free market capitalism. This would empower corporations by giving them more power and privilege while disempowering the middle and lower classes.

I know his two ideas of NO WARS and legalization of drugs is attractive. The latter especially when you're still in your 20s. Nonetheless, the man has to many bad ideas that would make America dumber and more unequal. Choose a critical thinker instead.”

Geniuses Are Born, Not Made? Debate Between Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, Dr. Zach Hambrick

“Geniuses are made. It's your environment-parents, siblings, family, friends, education, community, information mediums, etc-that has a profound impact whether or not you actualize your potential to the max.”

jkcow on Mar 14, 2012 at 21:17:57

“I think that given the exact same environment raising 2 different children would show that some think on a higher level that others. High IQ children absorb information immediately. As the IQ lowers it takes proportionally longer for the child to retain the information. A high IQ child spents more time analyzing and less time gathering information. This produces faster decisions and leads to deeper analysis. The higher IQ child will be enbraced by mentors because of their ability to learn.”

Tiffany Lexus on Mar 14, 2012 at 20:52:24

“I agree, I think that the environment plays a big role in the development of geniuses. What you learn has a profound affect on how smart you will become. Some people just don't try and then their talent is wasted.”

Coachella 2012 Lineup Announced: The Black Keys, Radiohead, Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg Headlining (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

“Anyone know if this is going to be streamed live?

I can't justify spending close to $1000 for 2 tickets, transportation, etc. just to watch At the Drive In, Refused, Radiohead, and Dr. Dre.”

mrsdesertviper on Jan 11, 2012 at 12:43:05

“No it's never shown live...that's how they get their money out here (I live in the Coachella Valley)....I always expected them to at least do a PPV but they don't even do that for those who want to go. Oh and needless to say...not only do you have to fight to get tickets before they sell out....people start reserving rooms at Motels and Hotels a year in advance...so that may be an issue too!!!”

“Great article. The experience you shared with your daughter reveals a major skill EVERYONE needs to gain: critical thinking. Specifically, being able to verify sources/facts, evaluate various perspectives on an issue, and then decide if the information is true or false. Especially since we're living in a vast ocean of information. We all need to learn how to filter out the BS.”

Wrong. It's precisely the idea of perpetual growth = progress that is leading humanity over cliff. It's an outdated idea that needs to be replaced with sustainability.”

“For those stating that the North Koreans are brainwashed, analyze yourself for a moment:

If you are Xian, Mormon, Muslim, political fundamentalist, etc. who dismisses all evidence that contradicts you're current beliefs, then you're just as brainwashed as they are. It's hypocritical for you to call someone brainwashed when you yourself are.

It's time for all of us to deconstruct our beliefs and become critical thinkers. For the sake of increasing well-being, tolerance and the continual survival of the human race.

Ron Paul Proposes Interesting Salary For Himself As President

Commented Dec 12, 2011 at 16:11:46 in Politics

“He's stated a couple of things that I think he's wrong at:

1. He doesn't believe in the separation of church and state.
2. He doesn't believe in global warming.
3. He believes in Austrian Economics (which makes sense if you think about since this economics philosophy rejects the scientific method fitting with his rejection of evidence and facts)
4. His Ayn Randian perspective towards others - the virtue of selfishness (Remember his response in the CNN GOP debate response about letting the churches help the uninsured?) which contradicts the Christian belief that Jesus promoted: "Love your neighbor as yourself"

We need a leader with 21st century values.”

whistlerc42 on Dec 13, 2011 at 01:56:57

“OOoneworldOO:jesus taught people to "love your neighbor" His example of the good samaritan was of one individual helping another individual. he never taught that government was expected to do anything. i have seen several posts over several weeks that indicate that people think that government welfare programs and 'safety nets" fulfill this teaching, it doesnt.”

therealarigold on Dec 12, 2011 at 16:35:55

“I'm sorry, your fourth point makes no logical sense. Voluntary support and mandatory support are two different things. Are you really loving your neighbor as yourself if you're being forced to?”

“o so deceitful
1. Where, one link where he states this, please!! He states that each municipality should define how their religious views are guided, without violating any federal laws such as discrimination. He wants kids to have the right to pray if they want in school, but cannot be forced to pray. He raised the valid point that God is a higher power some people turn to. When the state issued a war on religion, it undermined the thoughts of the founding fathers. As I am sure you know, most were Christian.
2. While I'd love to engage in this conversation, I don't have enough room and time. just mention that you should look up the 400,000 year cycle and how well inside of this cycle we are, not to mention we live in between two ice ages and not a single shred of proof has shown that man made emissions have a high impact on the stratosphere.
3. N/A
4. Objectivism is a natural thought process evolving out of a logical mind. If you put this fact together with a God fearing man, you understand how right that person is for the presidency.

BTW.. i myself am agnostic.”
