Debt Collectors Have Figured Out A Way To Seize Your Wages And Savings

Debt Collectors Have Figured Out A Way To Seize Your Wages And Savings

Commented Jun 3, 2014 at 12:57:13 in Business

“Bart, you are making some mighty assumptions here. First, if you read the article, you would realize that these 3rd party folks are placing leins on folks who do not actually owe the debt. This happens more frequently that you might want to admit. As for an attorney involved, not necessarily - pretty easy to file in court, paralegals do it, and workers can be trained to submit paperwork. Judgment is automatic is the the defendant fails to show (and many were not not notified). Something isn't right about this and you, as an attorney, know that. Not an attorney, but have worked in legal for years. Very different than a standard debt directly owned and judgment.”

The fact remains that this man went from looking relatively well to very aged and unhealthy. The fact that we have a commitment to not leave others behind is the reason they still search for U.S. remains in Viet Nam today. Should we change that policy over one person - probably not. Early to make proclimations of innocense or guilt. As far as the released detainees, again, there may be bigger fish to fry and plans that are thankfully not on the internet.”

“Everyone loves to bear witness and be a part of someone's new arrival in this world. There is as much beauty and honor in bearing witness to the leaving, though few are comfortable in that role. My husband is beginning his journey, and before him, I saw this in my parents and his. It is a gift, but not well understood and often under appreciated.”

Although the passing of my father was a much more somber celebration, it was a celebration none-the-less. After years of battling he finally found rest. “Children can remain in the custody of parents with significant abuse problems, but a temporary mental health condition that can be monitored and treated effectively renders what appears to be a near-automatic loss of parental rights. I do understand that no state agency wants to be the one where something terrible happens, but in its own right, these cases of termination are terrible. Foster parenting should not be a direct route to adoption.”

As it was, I did have my grandsons for 2 years when they were in high school and can say that it was not easy to be 60+ with teen boys, but I digress. I live in a marriage equality state: Maryland. Nothing in my marriage changed - not its recognition for contract purposes, not in the eyes of my chosen spiritiiual path, not in how many taxes I pay. These law suits, particuarly ones where states refuse to recognize another state's legal marriage, set the stage for federal intervention - which we all know folks like this will hate.”

It was no accident that this young man could obtain guns: it was legal. By saying it was an accident, this "representative" attempts to avooid any responsibility for being a part of a solution, rather than the problem. We need reform to mental health law that allows intervention for the sickest of untreated patients, to protect them and others. This was no accident.”

“These very issues, child labor, and the company store and town are the reasons people fought and died for the right to unionize at the turn of the last century. How quickly forget and how quickly many fall into the trap of believing that the company will regard the workers and their families because it is in their best interest to do so. Completely backward - it is in the company's best interest to pay as little as possible, to keep workers in fear for their jobs, to ignore safety conditions by considering fines as cheaper than following the law. Unbridled capitalism is amoral and it certainly not in the best interest of anyone other than the shareholders/owners.”

All suggest that love is the first great command and that to treat each other with respect and be kind is next. People complicate belief, thinking dogma solves issues, when its' very divissive. Secondly, havent you noticed the intentions behind the media lately? Well, maybe its not that recent, since the 70s And as a conclusion, with all due respect I tell you, instead of waiting a response, ask yourself, whats good about condoning every single action and belief system in this world when we know which ones have brought trouble to people, even if we were not affected? It was told to us, long ago, repent, there was a reason for it, to avoid repeating the mistakes of our ancestors. God bless you.”

“It cannot be more efficient and certainly is not a moral force without regulation. Please tell me why there was a union movement in the 1920's? Your understanding of the Constitution seems very limited, and extremely slanted toward states' rights - forgetting that the federal government receives its authority from Congress as affirmed by the judiciary. You believe that only social programs cause tax and spending, forgetting that corporate tax "incentives" are the largest portion of government largess. Your understanding of the charter school movement is also the product of Fox News and the far right. Good public schools always attract students - in DC, more parents are returning their students to public schools. Testing results do not bear out your truth that charters always do better - their results, despite "cherry picking" students, are on par and sometimes below public school uotcomes. Privatizing federal programs does not save money, it creates graft, greed, and poor oversight - the fraud in Medicare comes from the folks billing Medicare, not from the patients. Private health insurance does not deliver a better product for less money than Medicare, despite spending $500/year in tax incentive to prop up Medicare Advantage Plans. You seem short on your understanding of history past yesterday.”

“You are throwing the baby out with the bathwater in your assumptions. Change the prescription drug plan law so that Medicare can negotiate pricing and it does with providers. That fault lies with the Congress with has adicated its role in governance. Public schools - are not a waste. Part of the method for collecting data is flawed, and we are teaching to tests instead of assuming that teachers can actually teach. Ask yourself why the federal governmnet became involved in overseeing education. In part, it was because some states elementary schools could not be accredited due to lack of funds, years of separate and unequal facilities and the like. My husband refused orders (Navy) once based on that and the fact that we had a 7 year old child who needed decent schools. Your assumption that the market will fix everything at a lower cost is also misplaced, since Medicare and public schools do not have to advertise, and at least in the case of public schools, must take all who need an education, including those with 504 and IEP plans. You've been duped into thinking that the market is a moral force, which it is not. Why did unions rise? Safety, poor pay, abuse of workers. That can happen again in completely free unrestrained markets.”

Repeal 2016 on May 28, 2014 at 13:31:03

“Free enterprise is now and will always be far more efficient than the federal government. This is exactly the reason why the Founding Fathers set up the Constitution the way they did. They did not want a federal government that would dominate the society. Right now, you can't even breathe air without paying for it by means of the ACA. The federal government is pumping over a trillion dollars a year into the economy just pay off debt and social welfare programs...which is deflating the dollar into toilet paper money. You think gas prices are up due to demand? It is the value of the dollar which has deflated forcing prices to rise.

People line up all over the country for an opportunity for their kids to enter charter schools. Public sector Unions are fighting mad about it and doing everything possible to not have choices.

You privatize federal programs and you will have each and every Union fighting to stop it. Why? They know they will have to finally compete and work for a living.”

“Social Security works well, Medicare works well. yes, there is fraud, but not on behalf of the government, rather those that bill the government. I can't say that for-profit is inherently better, which you seem to believe. If that were so, I believe that we should have expanded Medicare Advantage and disabled standard Medicare, but that didn't happen. Medicare Advantage cost more (subsidies of $500 million every year) and didn't produce any better result than standard Medicare. Medicare's administrative costs are lower than private insurance. Need I go on?”

Repeal 2016 on May 28, 2014 at 07:56:22

“Administrative costs are low as Medicare has no marketing, legal fees which ensure minimal corruption, and other factors that you see with for-profit organizations. However, due to the inflexability of Medicare, things like lack of negotiation for prescription drug costs produce so much watse that if those savings were realized, they would far exceed any increase in privatized administrative costs. This lack of flexability is the rational reason why federal programs are just not practical and end up costing the Taxpayers Trillions of dollars a year in waste.

Just look at the public schools. Same results. Poor performance while wasting our tax dollars. But politicians will not privatize as they do not want to relinquish power......as well as the Unions.”
