Israeli Troops Say They Stopped Palestinian Suicide Bomber

Israeli Troops Say They Stopped Palestinian Suicide Bomber

“If your having your head filled day and in and day out with hatred, whose surprised that sooner or later someone is going to try and do something about it. I don't like the idea of the wall anymore then anyone else, but the reasons for it are precisely the same reasons the Chinese built their huge walls. The Mongols kept raiding into Chinese territory and the Chinese response was to try and defend themselves. Israelis feel the same pressure and have responded as people do, in defense. The walls are not an aggressive show of force, this proves that. Oh and the Romans also built a wall Northern Britain once once again because of a similar situation. Right or wrong this is the kind of response you get in these circumstances. Do the walls ultimately work, NO, in the long run they don't. Some kind of solution has to happen to solve this issue. Terror bombs will only make it worse and walls will only delay the inevitable solution whatever the two sides decide that will be. In the mean time we have a mini - Cold War between these two peoples,”

DaVinci1124 on May 31, 2014 at 06:14:12

“When a group of Europeans invade in the 1940's and ethnically cleanse an ancient land, I guess its necessary to have a wall to prevent any blowback. When the Germans occupied France they didn't try to erase all French influences from Paris - but nonetheless we supported the French resistance.”

Yeh, they invaded and occupied.
As Israel did the West Bank.
Empires come and go.”

“Congratulations on your knowledge of World History.

Walls may not work in the long run, but in the short run the people behind the walls lay their heads down at nite secure in the belief that they are safe. So in the short run they work. And in the long run we all die.”

“Nothing the republicans want has been passed. Less has been passed by the left than could have been. Until the GOP took the house, this administration ran them over, never let them have a voice, and never negotiated. I'm surprised that you're surprised the GOP played hardball when they got the house back.”

“Several times in the past there have been prolonged periods of war. There was the 100 years War, which was quickly followed by the 30 years War. The result was that it literally bankrupted most of Europe. Then of course the English Empire had Britain at war, some small, some large from the time of the Spanish Armada until the end of WW II..... So that is from early in the 1500's to 1950...... I don't know, but that seems as close to perpetual War as I would want to come. And the end results? Britain was Bankrupt.”

And in case you're wondering, wars are the reasons that we cannot fund social warfare funds that would help the most needy among us. Its another reason why we can't repair our aging dilapidated infrastructure.”

The GOPers are starting to move through all the steps of grieving. They'll get there. Soon it will be ok, were causing it , but not the OIL companies its the LIbruls and all their taxes causing it. “This is so tiresome already. What is it about this topic that these people don't get? This is one of the most studied and most established ideas in science today. Its not like we haven't known about the "greenhouse effect" now for over 125 yrs. This is not "new" science. The planet is warming because of Industrialization and it has been warming for over 300 yrs. now. The facts and the science are solid. We have to move on from this fraudulent so called debate. There is no debate. The deniers have nothing but Fossil fuel money to show for their arguments, without the endless amounts of this totally self interested cash we wouldn't even be mentioning this, we'd be too busy doing something about it already.”

“Economics has rules and laws if you will , that operate in macro and micro environments equally. The government can create money it is true,, and the more they create the more it devalues the currency that already exists. Whether based on a metal standard or as now the GDP , if you double the available supply the value declines by a relative amount based on whatever the quantity of what backs it is.

Recently the GDP has been revised to include some things such as intellectual property, R&D expenses for example. This has the effect of artificially increasing the GDP over what it would have been under previous calculation method. In theory you could inject another 1.5 trillion in currency without any devaluation. You don't have to belive me,,, just look at how the GDP has increased without any significant growth in the economic output. Adjusted GDP , taking into account inflation ,, has been not much above 1% for several years now. Since inflation does not account for a few things like energy costs and food ,, true growth is right next to 0%.

The government can spend whatever it wants,, as long as it can tax the people to pay for it. It must pay the interest accrued no matter what. If it does not ,, it defaults on it's obligations. Beyond this , the fundamental rules or laws that govern economics works no different for the individual than it does for the government.”
